I have nothing more to say. Just read the clip and weep or laugh. The choice is yours. Personally, I am weeping.

Clip Source: talkingpointsmemo.com

The McCain campaign is now broadening their attack on Obama's past association with William Ayers to include Michelle Obama -- even though McCain has repeatedly said spouses should be off limits during the campaign.

The attack? Bernardine Dohrn, Ayers' wife and fellow former Weatherman, went to work in 1984 for the major Chicago-based national law firm of Sidley & Austin, and three years later, Michelle joined the mega-firm as well.

That's the entire attack. We wish we were joking. But we aren't.

Tags: elections, presidential, mccain, obama, twisted, sick, disgusting.

<clipSource>http://talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/223489.php</clipSource>

Voter Fraud in Texas

clipped by: pkronfield
clipper's remarks: What is unsaid in this article is what party did all these thousands of dead and ineligible voters cast their vote for? But, Hammerlein says while fraud is a concern, for his office, disenfranchising voters is a bigger one.

"We do all we can, but you know we'd rather err on the side of leaving people on the roll instead of taking them off inadvertently," he said.

Texas Watchdog found 4,462 registered voters who appear to be deceased.

Tags: voter fraud

<clipSource>http://www.click2houston.com/investigates/17671375/detail.html</clipSource>

Hedge Fund's Trade Secrets In Manipulating The Global Stock Markets

clipped by: merrie
clipper's remarks: - have been savaged far more than Wall Street's errant financiers even though they have yet to write off a single extra cent in bad debt since the credit crisis hit last year. At the moment, they are simply making prudent and relatively tiny provisions in case anything does go wrong.

The ASX financial index has been slashed by 30.3 per cent since November 1. But on Wall Street, the cause of the problems, the Dow Jones banking index has fallen just 21 per cent.

How could that possibly be? The answer is that the traders have found a chink in Australia's regulatory armour.

The hedge funds have found a way to manipulate the market through a process known as short selling. This is where traders sell stocks if they think the share price will fall in the future. Then they buy them back at a lower price later on. It is perfectly legal and even encouraged as it can add liquidity to markets.

In recent years, however, the practice has become more sophisticated and incredibly complex.

Clip Source: business.smh.com.au

The volatility that has infected the Australian stockmarket in recent months may be playing havoc with your investments, but not everybody is unhappy with the situation.

Traders love it. It's how they make money.

There is a vast global industry looking for any means possible to exploit a price difference here

When it works properly, it is part of an efficiently operating market.

But lately in Australia it appears it hasn't been working properly at all. A clever bunch of traders - some local but most based offshore - have taken advantage of a legal loophole that has resulted in wild gyrations in stock prices.

Most of the problems on global financial markets relate to trouble in the US housing market. In it, he not only called for action to head off the unraveling of the subprime mortgage market, but also warned about its impact on the nation's economy. He sent the letter about 18 months ago, a time frame for which "two years" is a fair estimate. Right now, the credit markets are frozen up and what that means, as a practical matter, is that small businesses and some large businesses just can’t get loans. If they can’t get a loan, that means that they can’t make payroll. If they can’t make payroll, then they may end up having to shut their doors and lay people off. And if you imagine just one company trying to deal with that, now imagine a million companies all across the country. So it could end up having an adverse effect on everybody, and that’s why we had to take action.

Nailed it

Tags: obama, bailout, economy

<clipSource>http://gowest.blogs.fortune.cnn.com/2008/10/08/why-obama-won-debate-no-2/</clipSource>

Bill Moyers talks with George Soros about the Financial Crises

clipped by: Kauaiguy
clipper's remarks: Listen to the podcast or go to Bill Moyers Journal and watch the video.

Excellent interview with surprising assessments of current policy and market ideology.

Clip Source: www.pbs.org

Did they risk other peoples' money? Did they know we were in a housing bubble? Was it explained that the ARM would default if their home value declined? Why do we let professional sales-people make money leading people into the largest purchase in their lives without issuing precautions that first-time homebuyers often do not understand? And why is the homebuyer the loser, rather than the shyster that sold them a loan they could not possibly have understood? infer from the lack of popular anger,” the famed Wall Street contrarian wrote,
“that the credit crisis was God's fault rather than the doing of the bankers
and the rating agencies and the government's snoozing watchdogs.” For contrast,
he cites the spirited response to the depression of the 1890s, when
lawyer/agitator Mary Lease stirred crowds with the message that “We want the

jihad does not mean war in the Koran as there are other words for it like qital
and harb. Jihad has been used in the Koran in its root meaning: to
strive for betterment of society, to spread goodness

and contain

isn't central to Koranic teachings. The word "jihad" occurs in the Koran 41
times though not a single verse uses it in

the sense of war.

The four most fundamental values in the Koran are justice

 benevolence

compassion

and wisdom

One who fails to practice these values can hardly claim to be a true Muslim

It can be said
that compassion is most central to Koranic teachings. The words "compassion"
