In 2006, British soldier Martin Webster hit the headlines after being involved in a media scandal when he filmed British troops in Iraq beating up Iraqi youths

“Once the children started using grenades and firing RPGs, they certainly became a threat to our lives. Our underlying issue as infantry soldiers is to preserve life – our lives and civilians around. So once you pick up a weapon and you are going to use it – you become a target for us to either be captured, arrested or killed.”

“When video cameras became widely available I do not think that the [British] government accounted for the fact that the public is going to see how horrific the war is,” remembers Webster. “You’re fighting kids [in Iraq]. People find it very hard that their Western boys are fighting children. That is the horrible fact of war. Those bombers were in their teens.” He added that the notorious clip with British soldiers beating up Iraqi youth destroyed his life.

Yong People Regeneration

Hello everyone. Last November 2, my heart felt with gladness and joy. We had an overnight retreat at the Gift Sea beach resort. Though the place was so cold but the fire is burning in our heart- the fire and longing for Christ presence. Together with the other young people (my church mates), we had a fellowship and a great revival and anointing. Again, it’s another experience and opportunity for me to grow in Christ. I can’t explain the joy that I felt inside. It’s time for re-generation and respond to God’s calling. I believe that the time will come that God’s amazing anointing and revival will come in our land.

China To Stop Shock Therapy On Internet Addicts

BEIJING (AP) - China's Health Ministry has ordered a hospital to stop using electric shock therapy to cure youths of Internet addiction, saying there was no scientific evidence it worked.

Linyi Mental Health Hospital in eastern Shandong province used the treatment as part of a four-month program that has so far treated nearly 3,000 youths, the China Youth Daily newspaper has reported, citing the psychiatrist who runs it, Yang Yongxin.

The ministry said in a statement posted on its Web site late Monday there is no domestic or international clinical evidence that electric shock therapy helps cure Internet addiction. Electric shock therapy is most often used to treat severe depression.

Chinese psychologists say symptoms of Internet addiction include being online more than six hours a day - playing games and looking at pornography rather than working or studying - and getting angry when unable to get online.

The man and the woman were both taken to hospital and Lachlan was treated by Ambulance Victoria at the scene.

Sen Cons Joseph said that Lachlan did a fantastic job and things could have been a lot worse if he had not intervened.

VICTORIAN teenager Lachlan Edwards has been praised after he swam to the rescue of two people caught in a rip at Point Impossible Surf Beach in the state's southwest.

Lachlan, 15, had already rescued a man from about 70 metres offshore at about 7pm (AEDT) yesterday when two policemen on patrol noticed him struggling to support a woman in the water.

One of the policeman, Leading Senior Constable Justin Joseph, stripped to his underpants, ran into the water and swam out to Lachlan and the woman.

He approached the pair where he was told by Lachlan that he had already rescued one man and had then attempted to rescue the woman, but he was exhausted and was having difficulty getting back to shore.

The policeman reassured the youth and between them they managed to get the woman back to dry land.

The two officers were told that prior to their arrival, a Whittington man got caught in the rip and the woman swam out to help him back to shore.

Colin Powell was born in New York City on April 5, 1937. The son of Jamaican immigrants, Luther and Maud Powell, he was raised in the South Bronx. Powell was educated in the New York City public schools, and at City College of New York (CCNY). He subsequently received a Master of Business Administration degree from George Washington University.
