Republican presidential candidate John McCain said the Federal Reserve System should stop bailing out failed financial institutions, and put part of the blame for the current financial crisis at the feet of his Democratic rival, Barack Obama.

"We're heard a lot of words from Sen. Obama over the course of this campaign, but maybe, just this once, he could spare us the lectures and admit to his own poor judgment in contributing to these problems," McCain said. "The crisis on Wall Street started in the Washington culture of lobbying and influence peddling, and he was right square in the middle of it."

Several news outlets have documented that several of McCain's top advisors are former lobbyists, including one who lobbied Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

Like cigars, coffee, and cognac, the enjoyment of bitter greens is one of the privileges of adulthood.

The trick is taming the bullying bitterness into near, but not total, submission. Blanching the greens and combining them with a dose of fat and salt creates a yin-yang effect: Most of the bitterness is eliminated, but a distinct and addictive bite remains.

Packed with vitamins and minerals, bitter greens also contain high amounts of bioflavanoids and antioxidant compounds.

First off, it's best to take bitter greens with a grain (or two) of salt.

The Tibetan Buddhist term yab-yum translates as father/mother, masculine/feminine or yang/yin. Yab-yum is the ultimate Tantric lovemaking position because it is ideal for sharing energy.

A "glory" is an atmospheric phenomenon with the same colors as a rainbow. They form when sunlight is scattered by the water droplets of a cloud.

The most obvious ring is about 60 kilometers wide in its center; the red and orange wavelengths are most visible. Parts of at least one inner and one outer concentric ring are also visible, however. At the northwest perimeter of the central ring, a faint patch of green hints at the presence of an outer ring. A faint orange oval is nestled in the center of the main ring as well.

A glory is caused by the scattering of sunlight by a cloud made of water droplets that are all roughly the same size.

Another interesting feature in the scene is the yin-yang-shaped vortices at the upper right of the image. These vortices, properly known as Von Karman Vortices, appear downwind of islands that perturb the flow of air like a boulder creates an eddy downstream in a river. The tradition-bound Western image of a he-man, masculine God may already be thousands of years out of date, says a Westchester rabbi who believes he has unlocked the secret to God's name and androgynous nature.

Rabbi Mark Sameth contends in a soon-to-be-published article that the four-letter Hebrew name for God - held by Jewish tradition to be unpronounceable since the year 70 - should actually be read in reverse. When the four letters are flipped, he says, the new name makes the sounds of the Hebrew words for "he" and "she."

We live in the Milky Way galaxy - a disk-shaped collection of about 400 billion stars including the Sun. Many of those stars and much of the dense gas between the stars concentrate into large arms that spiral outward from the galactic center.

Astronomers have worked for decades to map the Milky Way and its spiral arms. They have just discovered a new spiral arm on the far side of the galactic center from Earth, which is a virtual twin of a known arm on the near side of the galactic center. The Milky Way therefore shows a beautiful symmetry, with two matching spiral arms lazily spinning near the galaxy's center.

Tom Dame of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics (CfA) presented this finding today in a press conference at the 212th American Astronomical Society meeting.

"Our galaxy isn't as messy as many thought. What we have found is evidence of some balance and order, like the yin and yang of Chinese philosophy," said Dame.
