Digado stands for Digital Adoption. Its the scenario I think will be most relevant for the future of the metaverse. A generation that regards 3d as a ‘natural environment’. The Xbox, playstation and PC generation. They will adopt the 3d worlds and see the benefits of the digital distribution, communication, education, information and entertainment as something that has always been part of their lives.

This blog lists my research, opinion and news regarding ‘the Metaverse’. A word I define as being a Virtual, Social Network. The goal of this network can be anything from entertainment (gaming worlds such as World of Warcraft), business and creativity (Second Life) all the way down to simply connecting people in a customizable environment (Cyworld).

The question that Digado tries to answer is ‘how can we use Virtual Worlds in a realistic, meaningful way for the businesses of today and tomorrow’.

San Francisco, Oct 3 (DPA) In a bid to close the ever-widening gap with Google on Internet searches, Microsoft has started offering consumers redeemable points for using its search service.

The programme was launched as new web traffic figures Thursday showed that Google had extended its lead to 63 percent of the US search market in August. Yahoo came in with a 19.6 percent share, followed by Microsoft with an 8.3 percent share.

Microsoft hopes that its new SearchPerks programme will help counter the trend by giving consumers, who enroll in the programme, tickets for any searches they do using Microsoft's Live Search service. The virtual tickets can be redeemed for prizes, such as airline miles, music downloads and games for Microsoft's XBox video game system.

Microsoft said that tests showed that people were three times more likely to use Live Search when they were offered redeemable points than when they weren't.

The UK's a strange sales region when it comes to consoles. While Europe is generally considered Sony territory, the UK bucks the trend by favoring the Xbox 360. Despite that, PS3 sales throughout the last year have increased dramatically, keeping in line with 360 sales during the period. Both consoles sold around a million units between last September and now, with the PS3 install base rising from 0.4 million to 1.4 million.

Shortform series re-creates porn dialogue

Spike.com has ordered shortform series "James Gunn's PG Porn," which brings together primetime TV stars and leading porn actresses for comic -- and platonic -- vignettes. Safran Digital Group produces and distributes in association with Good Boy Prods.

Nathan Fillion ("Desperate Housewives") and Michael Rosenbaum ("Smallville") join adult-film stars including Aria Giovanni, Belladonna and Sasha Grey in re-creations of dialogue from porn films, minus the actual sex, of course.

Fillion, who already scored himself a webisode hit with "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog," appears alongside Giovanni, who counts "Porn" as her first onscreen kiss with a man.

Premiering Oct. 8, "Porn" were written and directed by Gunn ("Dawn of the Dead"). SDG also has Gunn set up to produce "Humanzee," one in a series of originals the company has coming to Microsoft Xbox.

Watching HDTV on your computer isn't an easy thing to get setup, despite the obvious benefits as computer screens get larger and convergence becomes more of a reality. That might change, however, as soon as the DirecTV HDPC-20 hits store shelves.

This dual-tuner allows you to watch and record programming on your PC, allowing you to hook a computer up in your living room and use it as the most robust DVR ever. Other features aren't entirely clear, but it may be possible to stream recorded content from it to Windows Media Extender devices such as the Xbox 360. It would make setting up a home theatre PC much easier than it is now, but right now there's no release date and the product specs are sketchy. We'll keep our eyes on this one for you.

It was reported that retailers saw a 100% increase in sales for the Xbox 360 last weekend when compared to the previous one. Starting last Friday, Xbox 360 prices were cut US$50 to $80 depending on the model.

systems such as PlayStation 3 and Xbox allow children to connect to the Internet and play games online with strangers. PlayStation 3 allows children to engage in text messaging, voice chat and downloading photos.

She said the predators pose as children and lurk in chat rooms where people ask strangers to be teammates. Once the predators begin playing, they gain the trust of children.

"What usually happens is the predator will get online and try to make contact and communicate and then try to get them into a more private setting, like possibly MSN messenger, where they can have a chat with them and from there things can progress."

"If somebody comes on and starts asking them questions or is trying to engage them in conversation that is not about the game, (such as) what do they do and where do they live and about their bodies, then they should just turn it off or tell them to go away."
