Caprica – Battlestar Galactica’s Long Awaited Offspring

For those of you who don’t know, Caprica is a TV series set in the same universe as the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica, but the events it portrays occur 58 years before the events in the main series.

It is set on Caprica rather than in space in an attempt to have a more universal appeal than the Battlestar series. Series producers feel that the ‘war in space’ format had a largely male following whereas Caprica is looking to have an equally male and female audience.

Caprica tells the story of how the human colonials created the robotic Cylons that would later attempt to destroy their masters in retaliation for their enslavement.

Whilst the extended pilot has been available for digital download and on DVD since April of 2009, the series itself which is to consist of the pilot and 18 episodes is not due to hit our screens until January of 2010.

I was amazed to read about a recent study by Retrovro quirkily called the "Gadgetry Report" which found that over a third of the under-35 set has less time for spoonin' and pillow-talk after taking care of the lovely business of sex because they are Tweeting and using Facebook after sex. WTF? Is this really true?

One afternoon of bad sex could easily translate into an "It's complicated" relationship status.

I've heard of more than one break-up occur on the all-too-public pages of Facebook. When the relationship switches quickly between "In a relationship" to "Single", more than trouble is in the air

And, if you are in a complicated situation, do you really want all of your 547 friends to know you are in a complicated situation? They already know you were drunk the week before; how much should you let them know about who you are hooking up with and what exactly you think about it?
