Oops, never mind. That last bit was Captain Ned. But it does get old hearing this cohort of Ivy League toughs -- most of whom one suspects haven't had even a fistfight since third grade -- describe every U.S. foreign policy issue as a testosterone test. One suspects it may not be Obama's virility they're worried about.

Next came Cheney's devoted daughter. After President Obama paid a 4 a.m. visit to Dover Air Force Base in Delaware to salute the flag-draped caskets of 18 American servicemen arriving home from Afghanistan, and to console their families, Liz Cheney appeared on -- where else? -- Fox News radio to suggest a cheap political stunt.

One sign of a movement that's lost touch with reality is its preference for political melodrama. Out on the ragged edges of America's misconceived "war on terror," events in Afghanistan daily dramatize the awful situation confronting President Obama. He appears to have no good options. To be sure, Obama invited trouble, telling an audience at a VFW convention last August, "This is not a war of choice. This is a war of necessity."

A PLAN to build a second Australia Zoo, this time near the famous Las Vegas strip, is back on the agenda almost five years after first being proposed.

Las Vegas mayor Oscar Goodman said at the weekend the zoo project would include an enclosure which would include “crocodile wrestling”.

The new zoo would reportedly cost $40 million to build.

“It looks like a great project with a crocodile-type enclosure where they would wrestle with the crocodiles and feed the crocodiles and have a real educational component to it and we're going to continue those discussions,” Mr Goodman told KTNV.

“The zoo would be a limited zoo.

“It's an Australian zoo. We're not gonna have lions and tigers and giraffes.

“We're just going to have wombats and platypuses and koalas and crocodiles. I'm a big crocodile fan. I love crocodiles. So it's my kind of zoo.”

George Davis -- a former mayoral candidate known around the city as naked yoga guy --had pretty high ambitions for the second-annual Naked Olympics.

Scheduled for Saturday, the competition was supposed to include barefoot races, ancient Greek and sumo wrestling, discus, broad jump, volleyball, touch football, and a kickboxing exhibition.

But the overcast, 50-degree Saturday didn't much appeal to the nudist crowd. When the games were supposed to begin, only eight stripped-down, goosebumpy guys had arrived. Among them was Rocky Angel, a beefcake who painted his face to look like a Mexican wrestler mask. But there was nobody to challenge him.

So instead of moving forward with a half-assed event, the host called it off.

"I'm still thinking of doing it next year," said Davis, who believes strongly that the Naked Olympics will eventually take off

"What we are doing makes more sense and could easily become more influential than Bay-to-Breakers or Burning Man," he claimed.

The word hero is tossed around a lot these days, but there's no other way to describe Jay Vargas, a 21-one-year-old Powerball winner who's using his money to fund a bikini wrestling show.

Vargas, who at 19 became the youngest Powerball winner ever, has put part of his $17 million payout toward the development of "Wrestlicious," which features professional wrestling, sketch comedy and lots of scantily clad babes.

When Vargas won the lottery two years ago, he pledged to spend his money wisely. "I didn't have the temptation to go out and buy 15 cars or 50 houses, or a big mansion with 50-plus rooms," Vargas said. "I just want to be comfortable."

So this young entrepreneur packed up and moved from South Carolina to Tampa, Fla., the home of many professional wrestlers, to make his bikini-wrestling TV show dreams come true. In this age of corporate greed, it's refreshing to see a rich guy who wants to give back.

But his agent or whoever came up with the nickname must have thought he was trying out for the country-music version of American Idol or WWE-type wrestling. Seriously–The Hillbilly Heartthrob? How I’m Losing My Love For Israel

To paraphrase a recent Jewish organizational tagline, I’ve “hugged and wrestled with Israel” for 20 years now. At first, it was all embrace: Zionist songs and culture nourished me like mother’s milk, and on my first trip to Israel I kissed the tarmac at Ben Gurion, as did the other USY (United Synagogue Youth) kids.

Eventually, the wrestling came to the fore, particularly as I became more conscious of Palestinians, settlements and religious-secular divides. In 2002, I wrote about being “a leftist and a Zionist” and how difficult it was to maintain those dual political identities. And for several years, I’ve argued for a more nuanced approach to Israel advocacy and education than the hail of falafel balls and the bludgeon of Taglit-Birthright.

And so it is with the sadness that accompanies the end of any affair that I notice my love is starting to wane.

Why? There are four primary reasons.

Pigs were the champion garbage consumers in Cairo. Goats just don't seem up to the task.

CAIRO — It is unlikely anyone has ever come to this city and commented on how clean the streets are. But this litter-strewn metropolis is now wrestling with a garbage problem so severe it has managed to incite its weary residents and command the attention of the president.

“The problem is clear in the streets,” said Haitham Kamal, a spokesman for the Ministry of State for Environmental Affairs. “There is a strict and intensive effort now from the state to address this issue.”

But the crisis should not have come as a surprise.

When the government killed all the pigs in Egypt this spring — in what public health experts said was a misguided attempt to combat swine flu — it was warned the city would be overwhelmed with trash.
