Following the massacre at Fort Hood, Texas, some Muslim forums have been advising commenters to show restraint – for example here:

would just advise everyone to choose their words very carefully. Regardless of how you feel, certian words can be construed as sedition. Why be locked up for celebrating on the forum the death of 12 people? not worth it.. so think about it

Twitter feed to become TV show?

A Twitter feed featuring pearls of wisdom from a 73-year-old father could be turned into a US TV show.

Justin Halpern, 29, has attracted more than 700,000 followers since he began posting his father's often profane words of wisdom.

The comments include: "The baby will talk when he talks, relax. It ain't like he knows the cure for cancer and he just ain't spitting it out."

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Halpern will co-write the CBS project. The creators of Will and Grace will help him create a pilot show which could become a series.

Halpern moved back in with his parents in San Diego in August and began the Twitter feed based on daily conversations with his dad soon after.

Here are some of Mr Halpern Snr's words of wisdom: "Oh please, you practically invented lazy. People should have to call you and ask for the rights to lazy before they use it."

Back in the 70s or 80s, IBM made a video called The Power of 10, which showed the relative size of things from the universe to the cell and the effect of adding a zero. In other words going from 1 meter to 10 meters to 100 meters and so on.

Now in the age of nanotechnology, and manipulating materials on the molecular scale, it's nice to see an interactive that shows the relative size of the small things. We're talking everything from coffee beans to carbon atoms. With viruses, bacteria, red blood cells and a host of other structures in between.

For French press use coarsely-ground coffee, it won’t be caught in the filter. If the beans are too finely ground, some of it may not be caught by the filter and will end up in your cup. Also, it can block the filter, so it’s hard to press the plunger down. It’s suggested to use burr grinder for grinding the beans, because it creates equal sized boulders. Blade grinders tend to create dust and boulders are varying in size, so the taste of coffee suffers.

The recently documented sauropodomorph, described in the latest Proceedings of the Royal Society B, lived around 200 to 183 million years ago in South Africa and was nearly 30 feet in length.

"It had a rather long, slender neck and a heavy, barrel-shaped body," Adam Yates, lead author of the paper, told Discovery News, adding that the dinosaur also sported a big nose and was cheek-less.

"The teeth were braced on the outside by a sheet of bone that may indicate the animal was a foliage stripper, which in other words means that when feeding, it grabbed large mouthfuls of browse and pulled backwards to strip the leaves from the branches,"

The iconic sauropod body structure could have evolved when "proto-sauropods began to specialize on bulk-feeding of perhaps lower quality browse," Yates said. In other words, these types of dinosaurs evolved by fattening up prehistoric junk food.

They needed bigger guts to deal with it

which in turn slowed them down, making them vulnerable to predation
