Not a problem! Your bookie should have no trouble finding you a deal on this Chinese imposter. Just be aware of a few minor differences.

The included hand strap and ear buds are garbage, as is the hinge that joins the two screens. And what about those screens? That's where things get weird. The Neo comes packaged with two randomly selected, low-budget games -- the model in this photo came with 'Soccer' and 'Street Fighter' (yes, 'Street Fighter' is also a fake). The games are actually built right into the two removable screens. You power on the Neo and the top screen plays 'Street Fighter' while the bottom screen plays dead. To play 'Soccer,' you have to turn the unit off and swap the screens. As you'd expect, there's no touchscreen. There isn't even a Luigi.

Tags: ds, nintendo, tech, switched

<clipSource>http://www.switched.com/2007/05/20/attack-of-the-clones-2/</clipSource>

The Craziest Shoes From Around The World

clipped by: swampfoxz

Clip Source: www.shoemi.com

<A title="Permanent Link to "The Craziest Shoes From Around The World Part II"" rel="bookmark" href="http://www.shoemi.com/the-craziest-shoes-from-around-the-world-part-ii/">The Craziest Shoes From Around The World Part II

Continuing my search for The Craziest Shoes From Around The World, here are the next 23 weird shoes I found. style="text-align:left;">
1. The Zoop Car: Designed by the unlikely candidate of Paris fashion house Maison de Courrèges, this electric car is actually capable of speeds of up to 120mph and can seat three people. It might be eco-friendly and relatively fast, but I don’t imagine driving a lemon is for everyone’s taste.

2. The Parkcycle: Whilst not technically a car, it’s roughly car-shaped and was used to occupy parking spaces for the global event PARK(ing), in which participants turn ordinary parking spaces into public parks. Designed by art group Rebar and with a top speed of around 8km/h, it may not be the most maneuverable vehicle, but it does come with a 5m tree on it!

3. The Live-In Truck: Living Is.be has transformed the bed of a truck into a fully-functional living space. With hatches in the roof to allow natural sunlight and ventilation into the room, it also comes with a double bed, a sink, shower (naturally with running water) and a kitchen stove.

Tags: weird, unusual cars

<clipSource>http://www.cheapcarinsurance.org.uk/weird-cars.html</clipSource>

Merlin Mann's rules for good blogs

clipped by: adamstephenhall
clipper's remarks: Guidelines to craft a blog worth reading (instead of shitting out something that deserves to be ignored)

Clip Source: www.43folders.com

As I think about the blogs I’ve returned to over the years — and the increasingly few new ones that really grab my attention — I want to start with, ironically enough, a list. 1 pk White cake mix
1 pk White sandwich cookies
1 sm Package instant vanilla pudding mix

         12 sm Tootsie Rolls

Prepare cake mixes and bake according to directions. Prepare pudding mix and
chill until ready to assemble. Crumble white sandwich cookies in small batches in
blender. They tend to stick, so scrape often.

When cakes are cooled, crumble into a large bowl. Toss with half the cookie
crumbs and the chilled pudding. Gently combine. Pour into a clean kitty litter box.

Put unwrapped Tootsie Rolls in a microwave safe dish two at a time and heat
until soft and pliable. Shape ends so they are no longer blunt, curving slightly.
Repeat until you have nine, and bury them in the mixture. Sprinkle the other half of
cookie crumbs over top. Heat three more Tootsie Rolls in the microwave until almost
melted. Scrape them on top of the cake and sprinkle with cookie crumbs. Serve
    with a new pooper scooper.

There’s something about tanks that people seem to love. Either it’s their glamorous movie roles or their crucial strategic importance in battle zones; a lot of people hold a special place in their hearts for these thundering metallic beasts. Ever fancied driving and firing one for real? If you know the right places to go on the internet, you can make that dream a reality! It’s possible to buy rides in actual Russian T-34/85 and T-72 tanks, as well other varieties of tank, and explode away until your heart’s content! One place you could get this opportunity was formerly available from TankRide, however the website is now unfortunately not working.

Tags: bizarre, online, weird

<clipSource>http://www.dirty-rotten-scoundrels.co.uk/2008/08/18/10-bizarre-things-you-can-buy-online/</clipSource>

When 'The Blob' came to town

clipped by: wiccantexan

Clip Source: www.cnn.com

There is a man. Fifty years ago, this place was touched by the spotlight. A small production company two towns over made a film that no one expected to go anywhere. Instead, it became one of the iconic sci-fi horror flicks of the 1950s and introduced the world to an actor named Steve McQueen.

In real life, this happens: Each summer, hundreds of locals and folks from as far away as Oregon and Jamaica come to the center of Phoenixville. They visit the house where the doctor "died," stop by the strip mall where the market once stood, eat at the diner on the site where the alien met its frozen end. And, on Phoenixville's main drag, on a warm summer evening, more than 400 of them run screaming from the same theater, the Colonial, in a joyous re-enactment of the movie's big scene.

Tags: horror, movie, film, classic, history

<clipSource>http://www.cnn.com/2008/SHOWBIZ/Movies/08/18/blobtown.ap/index.html</clipSource>

Thou art that--Alan Watts

clipped by: papananook
clipper's remarks: (thanks to Cathy E. in LJ...Watts continues:
If you go out at night and look at the stars you will realize that they are millions and millions and billions of miles away - vast configurations out in space! You can lie back and look at that and say, "Whew! Surely I hardly matter. I am just a tiny little peek-a-boo on this weird spot of dust called Earth, and all that out there was going on billions of years before I was born, and will still go on billions of years after I die." Nothing may seem stranger to you than that - more different than you. But there comes a point when you will say, "Why, that's me!"
