History, heritage and heirlooms. Those are what quilts often represent as families share and hand them down.

The concept is the same with the Quilt Barn Trail -- the latest tour to hit Gallia County. It's allowing families to share their family designs and personal stories with the world.

It's a slice of Americana -- rolling hills along a countryside with a quaint gathering featuring singing and celebrating family history. It's the dedication of the fourth quilt square along Gallia County's new Quilt Barn Trail.

This square, titled Century of Progress, is posted on a barn that belongs to Vic and Mary Niday. It is an appropriate choice, since this working farm is more than a century old and has remained in the same family.

The Gallia County Quilt Barn Trail will eventually include 15 different locations.

Paul sez: "If you have a single exhaust Crown Vic, yes, get the cat back. If you have a dual exhaust Crown Vic, save your money and just weld in some new mufflers. Flowmaster mufflers are cheap and widely available. Choose three chamber versions for sound similar to a stock Mustang GT, or 2 chambers for a deeper throatier 5.0 sound. Performance gain from a muffler change is nil. Going from single to dual exhaust will gain you 15-20hp. An addition mod for a extra 10-15hp would be a custom X pipe with high flow cats. An “X” crossover costs about $90 and can be purchased at www.drgas.com. Dr Gas also sells the high flow cats with a package along with the X crossover. A muffler shop can remove your stock cats and H section and replace it with 2 ¼ inch pipe. Exhaust pipe larger than 2 ¼ is useless at the power levels a non supercharged Crown Vic will make and will only cause lost low end torque."

Dolphin deaths: Expert suggests 'mass suicide'

The dolphins that died after beaching in Cornwall had ingested debris and mud, leading one of the scientists who examined them to compare their deaths to "mass suicide".

Vic Simpson, a pathologist who examined some of the 26 dead mammals, said today: "On the face of it, it looks like some sort of mass suicide - but the question is why? The dolphins had swallowed and inhaled big chunks of mud from the estuary. Their lungs and stomachs were full of it. That is very bizarre indeed."

Simpson, who founded the Wildlife Veterinary Investigation Centre in Truro and is examining the dolphins on behalf of the Zoological Society in London, said: "We have seen strandings on beaches, sometimes with five to seven dolphins - but never on a scale like this."

The bodies were found at four sites on the River Percuil in south Cornwall on Monday. Rescuers guided some surviving mammals back out to sea.

Davies, Howard (1945- )

English stage director. Associated with the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) from 1975, his work included a cool, Brechtian Macbeth (1982), Henry VIII (1983), and Troilus and Cressida (1985), which he set during the Crimean War. He also established and ran the Warehouse, the RSC's London studio theatre, 1977-82. In 1988 he became an associate director of the National Theatre.

His first operatic production was Idomeneo in 1991 for the Welsh National Opera. Later productions include Mary Stuart (1996) and The Iceman Cometh (1998).

Davies was born in Reading, Berkshire. After taking a director's course at Bristol University, his first appointment as associate director was with the Bristol Old Vic.
