Show USB pen drive in Virtual Box

sudo nano -w /etc/fstab

Enter this in your fstab under all of the rest of the lines, make sure you do not edit anything BESIDES adding this new line.

Reboot and see how well it works.

It's in italian but I think it's pretty clear...

Jip worked for me after all. I just had to connect to an unprotected Wifi channel. (I disabled my WPA encryption for a while). After that I just used the packet manager to download bluez-utils and installed it.

Just followed the instruction and voila my mediaboard is up and running.

After re-boot however I still don' get the mediaboard connected automatically.
How can I arrange this? Anyone advise me please?

In the bluetooth pannel you have to set it trusted

Repair Windows from Within Ubuntu

If Windows is refusing to boot, for whatever reason, you can try repairing the file system from within Ubuntu. Use Synaptic to search for the ntfsprogs package. Once it’s installed, unmount your Windows partition (if it’s mounted), and type sudo ntfsfix /dev/sda1 to check and fix the partition (assuming your Windows partition is /dev/sda1—likely if you installed Ubuntu in a dual-boot configuration on a computer already running Windows).

This tip is also useful if you see the “Cannot mount volume” error when attempting to access your Windows partition from within Ubuntu.

Why Midori?

Microsoft's new operating system research project is mysteriously named "Midori". But why?

Coining the codenames for consumer tech products can be a tricky business.

Thus it seems slightly strange that Microsoft has chosen the word "midori" for its latest research project. It's an effort to create an internet-based system for a world where people use more than one machine to access applications, and it's already being talked about.

And most bizarrely, the codename midori has already apparently been used in the technology field with a version of Linux and a WebKit browser.

It's all a big departure for a company that usually just sticks with placenames.

The codenames can give a hint of the ethos of the people behind the product.

Each version of the Ubuntu Linux system carries, as well as a number, a name. So far they have included Breezy Badger, Feisty Fawn and Gutsy Gibbon.

But exactly what Midori is really saying remains unclear.

walterbyrd and other readers are sending along the news that IBM is partnering worldwide with Canonical/Ubuntu, Novell, and Red Hat to offer Windows-free desktop PCs pre-loaded with Lotus software and ready for customizing by local ISVs for particular markets. The head of IBM's Lotus division is quoted: "The slow adoption of Vista among businesses and budget-conscious CIOs, coupled with the proven success of a new type of Microsoft-free PC in every region, provides an extraordinary window of opportunity for Linux." One example of the cooperation: "Canonical, which sells subscription support for Ubuntu, a Linux operating system that scores high marks on usability and 'the cool factor,' will re-distribute Lotus Symphony via their repositories. Symphony 1.1 will be available through the Ubuntu repositories by the end of August."
