TV Viewers Cut Cable's Cord; Here's What They're Watching Online Instead

Kenny Johnson, a senior credit analyst for Fox Home Entertainment in Garden Grove, Calif., recently took a hard look at his finances -- and canceled his c-television subscription.

With a newborn child at home and growing household expenses, he says the decision saved him and his wife more than $40 a month -- or roughly the increase he is paying at the gas pump every month for his commute to work. The couple held onto their DSL Internet connection, which costs about $38 a month.

Now the Johnsons access most of their television shows online, through Web sites like Hulu.com, in addition to the free broadcasts they pick up over the airwaves. They also bought a set-top box that allows them to stream shows via Netflix.com to their television set, including episodes of NBC's "The Office" and Showtime's "Weeds."

clipper's remarks: This one's a little personal. If I see one more electoral map that shows the Badger state as a toss-up, I'm going to hurt someone. Wisconsin isn't going McCain, it hasn't gone GOP since the Reagan landslide.

Other fun results; Bush is really unpopular here -- only a 15% job approval rating. More evidence that McCain's done here.

He's still spending money here, though. You can't watch TV for an hour without seeing a McCain ad.

A photographer caught video of a crab hitching a ride on the back of a giant pink meanie jellyfish off the Gulf Coast of Florida.

Pat Clyne made the video of the underwater spectacle off the coast of Sanibel Island, WKMG-TV, Orlando, Fla., reported.

The video shows the crab moving underwater on the pink meanie jellyfish, which have tentacles 100 feet long and are rarely seen in the Gulf of Mexico.

The world's love affair with the mobile phone shows no sign of abating, with the head of the UN's agency for information and communication technologies predicting that there will be 4 billion mobile phone users - or more than half of the planet's estimated 6.7 billion inhabitants - by the end of this year.

The Italian Chamber of Fashion didn't like Cohen's shenanigans one bit and promptly sent out a press release to designers showing in Milan suggesting they not allow production companies Cohen's probably working with access to their shows. But security and that fancy press release couldn't stop Cohen. The photo you see here is of the prankster today on the runway of Agatha Ruiz De La Prada's show with a security guard chasing after him.

Sacha Baron Cohen has crashed Milan Fashion Week. Parading around as Bruno the gay Austrian fashion-TV presenter, he managed to get backstage with his camera crew at Iceberg, Mariella Burani, and Roberto Musso, according to WWD, which describes the incidents thusly:

Once inside, the comedian feigned a fashionista crisis, throwing himself on the floor, appearing to tear off his clothes. According to backstage photographers at Iceberg, Cohen was midinterview with a model agent when he began his act, dragging down a rack of clothes that stuck to his Velcro-trimmed getup. Security staff removed Cohen, and subsequently managed to block him from entering the Dsquared2 show on Thursday morning.

The movie Bruno: Delicious Journeys Through America for the Purpose of Making Heterosexual Male is supposed to come out next year. We can't freaking wait.

Update: We just came across video of the incident on Huffington Post. Note closely Bruno's runway outfit, which includes a shoe tied to his leg.
