Pirates spread the message that "God Hates Shrimp."

The pirates of Little Rock stole Fred Phelps' Westboro Baptist Church's thunder last Friday. The Topeka church was protesting the National Conference of Editorial Writers because they are "responsible for the satanic milieu in this evil land" and for assisting the "satanic agendas" of "baby-killers and fags."

Swashbuckling Flying Spaghetti Monster worshipping Central Arkansas Pastafarians decided to join the counter protest in full pirate gear.

But in a fortuitous twist, the protest happened to fall on International Talk Like a Pirate Day.

Yep, the cuckoo Phelps hate group walked the plank this morning after a happy bunch dressed like pirates and holding signs saying "God hates shrimp -- Leviticus" and "God hates cotton-polyester blends" stood opposite them at the corner of Markham and Scott streets. The group, made up of Central Arkansas Pastafarians, waved swords and growled "Arrghh!"

SAULT STE. MARIE, Ont. — The 28-year-old man accused in a stabbing aboard a Greyhound bus appeared dazed and kept quiet as he made a first court appearance Tuesday before being remanded into custody.

David Roberts, who is charged with aggravated assault and breach of probation, wore an orange shirt, striped pants and a slightly dazed expression during his brief appearance.

Roberts, who has thinning red hair, remained silent in court.

A publication ban was placed on all evidence to be heard at the bail hearing, scheduled for Wednesday after his lawyer requested an adjournment.

Roberts is alleged to have attacked another passenger on a bus near White River, Ont., on Sunday.

Anita Daher, who was also on the Winnipeg-bound bus, said police put Roberts on the bus in Wawa, Ont., during the afternoon.

Daher said the attacker then demanded to be let off and was arrested by police a short time later on the side of the Trans-Canada Highway, about halfway between Thunder Bay and Sault Ste. Marie.

In Celtic mythology it is the tree of doors, believed to be a gateway between worlds, or a place where portals could be erected.

In Norse mythology, the oak was sacred to the thunder god, Thor. Some scholars speculate that this is because the oak, as the largest tree in northern Europe, was the one most often struck by lightning. Thor's Oak was a sacred tree of the Germanic Chatti tribe. Its destruction marked the Christianisation of the heathen tribes by the Franks^{[citation needed]}.

In Classical mythology the oak was a symbol of Zeus and his sacred tree. An example is the oracle of Dodona, which in prehistory consisted solely of a holy oak.

The Oak tree is traditionally sacred to Serbs and is widely used throughout Serbia on national and regional symbols both old and new.
