Previous reports have documented Obama’s links to Kenyan opposition leader Raila Odinga, onetime Weatherman bombing suspect Bill Ayers and Rev. Jeremiah Wright, who proclaimed a black liberation theology for 20 years while Obama was a member of his church, demanding that God “d***” America.

“How much more have to come out on Obama before the O-Bots put down the kool-aid and say ENOUGH!” added a third.

“Barack Obama was a community organizer like Jesus,” Cohen said during a one-minute speech on the floor of the U.S. House yesterday. “Pontius Pilate was a governor.”

Democrats, including party strategist Donna Brazile and Rep. According to the State of the First Amendment survey released by the First Amendment Center last week, an astounding 55% of the American people agree that the U.S. Constitution establishes a Christian nation.

Of course, the text of the Constitution does no such thing: It nowhere mentions God or Christ; it bars any religious test for public office; and it prohibits any law “respecting an establishment of religion.”

Clip Source: www.firstamendmentcenter.org

In the long history of religion in presidential campaigns, the 2008 race may well be remembered as the sleaziest and most disturbing example of misusing religion to win votes and demonize the opposition.

In this theology-saturated climate, both Obama and McCain have felt compelled to emphasize their Christian bona fides in the race for the White House — as though the nation is electing a Christian in chief rather than a commander in chief.

McCain has sought to reassure evangelicals in the Republican base that he’s on their side.
Meanwhile, Obama’s campaign continues to be plagued by the lie that Obama is a Muslim. virtues, faith hope and love.

The first four can be traced back to Greek philosophers and Christian theologians readily
adopted them, arguing that they were applicable to all humans, Christian or otherwise. The
final three developed

from the writings of
Paul in the New Testament. They were not applied to all humans because theologians
thought that they were not naturally a part of human character due to the Fall into sin. Instead,
they came directly from God after one is baptized.

There are also seven "contrary" virtues: humility, kindness, abstinence, chastity,

This , of course, invokes a teleological aspect to cosmic evolution. Davies introduces this teleological element without abandoning naturalistic explanation by invoking quantum theory and backwards in time causation. By extending the delayed choice experiment from the scale of photons to the scale of the universe, Davies proposes that if the entire universe could evolve until it is permeated by mind and life, then it could engineer its own creation and evolution through backwards in time calibration of its initial conditions. This has the added bonus of forming a self-explanatory loop explaining the issue of why the universe exists at all!

Tags: science, theology, philosophy

<clipSource>http://panexperientialism.blogspot.com/2008/08/goldilocks-enigma.html</clipSource>

Process theology lambasted by orthodox Christian

clipped by: jimbo1000
clipper's remarks: I don't support his argument but it clarifies what you are getting with orthodoxy.
Jimmy Carter is a hero for me.

Clip Source: frontpagemagazine.com

Religious Liberals used to be chronic optimists who assumed that Providence

The book is Pastor, I Am Gay by Howard Bess. Palin now denies trying to have the book banned, but Bess says "This is a small town, we all know each other. People in city government have confirmed to me what Sarah was trying to do." Bess, now a retired American Baptist minister, also says of Palin "She scares me. She's Jerry Falwell with a pretty face" and "At this point, people in this country don't grasp what this person is all about. The key to understanding Sarah Palin is understanding her radical theology."

<clipSource>http://fiatblog.blogspot.com/2008/09/jerry-falwell-with-pretty-face_18.html</clipSource>

A bio-friendly self-made universe

clipped by: jimbo1000
clipper's remarks: Paul Davies is an excellent populariser of science.
