His emotional gravitas is centered upon his African heritage, and his belief that the white man is responsible for global poverty and unequal sharing of wealth.

Particularly disturbing is his lengthy relationship with Bill Ayers, an unrepentant Weatherman radical who bombed government buildings and abdicated the overthrow of the United States.

Given the current global situation of nearly twelve thousand Muslim acts of terrorism since 911, it is disturbing to find his close associations with Muslim groups,

I have highlighted passages in both books and find one particularly disturbing: “Should the political winds shift in an ugly direction I will side with the Muslims.”

The candidate has surrounded himself with anti-American grievance mongers, and appears to manipulate “typical white people” by appealing to their guilt about slavery.

He is a socialist, and totally disenfranchised from the history of “root America.”

I threw families onto the street in Iraq, only to come home and ﬁnd families thrown onto the street in this country, in this tragic and unnecessary foreclosure crisis. Our enemies are not ﬁve thousand miles away, they are right here at home, and if we organize and ﬁght, we can stop this war, we can stop this government, and we can create a better world.

We were told we were ﬁghting terrorists; the real terrorist was me, and the real terrorism is this occupation. Racism within the military has long been an important tool to justify the destruction and occupation of another country. Without racism, soldiers would realize that they have more in common with the Iraqi people than they do with the billionaires who send us to war.

We never got any explanation for our orders. We were only told that a group of ﬁve or six houses was now property of the U.S. military, and we had to go in and make those families leave their houses.

The Reality of Ayers

clipper's remarks: There is a quote from a movie and book whose title escapes me "The past is like a foreign country. People do things differently there." To people who grew up in the 60s and 70s although people who did what Ayers did were wrong and on the fringes, we understand the anger. Think of people's anger today at terrorism and remember that many were that angry at the US government. Think of parents who wouldn't let there children watch the news because of the death and destruction that came every day. Think of riots at political conventions and in the streets of cities across America. Think of the fear of nuclear attack from a volatile and powerful Russia. What Ayers did was wrong and should, by all rights have been punished. It was not, however, today.

Imagine if John McCain's career had been launched at the home of a right-wing terrorist such as Timothy McVeigh. Do you think the media would be shrugging their shoulders?

Imagine if John McCain were closely associated with a right-wing group that state officials say was actively committing widespread voter fraud running up to this election. Would the media ignore it?

If John McCain spent two decades in a church with a right-wing pastor who preached a version of white supremacy and routinely condemned America, would the media suggest that the tie was no reflection on McCain's own thoughts or ideology?

Earlier this week, The Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) launched a campaign to persuade Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) to drop the adjective “Islamic” when describing terrorists and extremists. But the McCain campaign has refused to budge, saying that he will continue to refer to Islam when talking about terrorism

Those are very appropriate words.

Over the last week, here at Clipmarks, other forums, on radio, TV, in the newspapers and magazines there is a shocking virulent outburst of hate against Obama, trying to associate him with "domestic terrorism," and being a supporter of 'Islamofacsist," (the neocon propagada term the Republicans wave like a red flag).

In this age of 24-hour media coverage there is the real possibility of such vocal and visible fascist-like hatred and attempts to distort elections and destroy opponents can succeed.

It was done in the 2000 elections in the USA, which Al Gore won and Bush stole in Florida, with the help of a shouting mob.

We have to not only stand strong against this, but fight back, word for word -- & Vote Obama,

Big Brother Listening in on Personal Phone Calls

There are clear stipulations concerning when eavesdropping without a court order can be used and, of course, the NSA claims it operates in “strict accordance with U.S. laws and regulations”. What else are they going to say?

It is despicable that our government has turned itself into such a distrusting caretaker.

The flip side to this story is that the two individuals could have made this up for the purpose of having contributed to a book that author Jim Bamford is writing. This could also be a stunt to get his name in front of the public and increase sales.

See what we have become? It is now so easy to believe that everyone is capable of lying to satisfy some ulterior motive that no news item can be taken at face value.

This country is in serious need of an ethical makeover.

Congress is looking into allegations that National Security Agency linguists have been eavesdropping on Americans abroad.

The allegations were made by two former military intercept operators on a television news report Thursday evening.

A terrorist surveillance program instituted by the Bush administration allows the intelligence community to monitor phone calls between the United States and overseas without a court order -- as long as one party to the call is a terror suspect.

Adrienne Kinne, a former U.S. Army Reserves Arab linguist, told ABC News the NSA was listening to the phone calls of U.S. military officers, journalists and aid workers overseas who were talking about "personal, private things with Americans who are not in any way, shape or form associated with anything to do with terrorism."

when linguists complained to supervisors about eavesdropping on personal conversations, they were ordered to continue transcribing the calls.

The homeland security mania has invited some startling abuses of police power, but we have yet to hear of any more knuckle-headed than one in Maryland.

The citizens had merely joined gatherings opposed to the Iraq war and capital punishment. Yet they were listed as terrorists three years ago on criminal intelligence rolls. “On the contrary, the groups were determined not to violate the law,” Stephen Sachs, the former Maryland attorney general, took pains to point out in a blistering report concluding that the runaway program violated constitutional rights and federal regulations.

It should make any American wonder what else is out there in the way of misbegotten police programs.

The 300 hours of surveillance devoted to data-smearing outspoken citizens was aptly described in the report as “an instructive example of the abuses that can result when the mere invocation of ‘terrorism’ is understood to override constitutional protections.”

The McCain - Palin Campaign Has Crossed Over to Evil

No longer can we simply dismiss the McCain campaign as “rallying the base” or “politics as usual.” The times have changed. For the worse. Bush and American intelligence officials to the contrary, hundreds of US citizens overseas have been eavesdropped on as they called friends and family back home, according to two former military intercept operators who worked at the giant National Security Agency (NSA) center in Fort Gordon, Georgia.

"These were just really everyday, average, ordinary Americans who happened to be in the Middle East, in our area of intercept and happened to be making these phone calls on satellite phones," said Adrienne Kinne, a 31-year old US Army Reserves Arab linguist assigned to a special military program at the NSA's Back Hall at Fort Gordon from November 2001 to 2003.

Kinne described the contents of the calls as "personal, private things with Americans who are not in any way, shape or form associated with anything to do with terrorism."

McCain Palin Inciting Racist Hate Crimes Against Obama & Supporters

That's all the McCain campaign has left. After falling so far behind in the polls their odds of winning in November seem to have dried up right before their very eyes, John McCain and Sarah Palin have turned to inciting their crowds in a fervor of hate, foaming at the mouth while spitting out lies about their opponents.

In speeches on Monday and Tuesday, McCain and Palin did not stop to correct or reprimand supporters who yelled out, "Terrorist!" "Treason!" and "Kill Him!" directed at Obama. Instead McCain and Palin laughed, and continued their hate filled neo-Nazi messages.

It's already working to harm Obama supporters. A man wearing an Obama t-shirt was shot in the face three times by a white man yelling, "I f-ing hate n-'s."

All they have left is Fear. Hate. Racism.
