This native of Mexico forms extremely vigorous annual vines which can grow up to 20-25 ft tall. They are covered in large bell shaped flowers that sit in a green saucerlike calyx. Blooms are at first greenish, then they mature to velvety blue or lavender. Very showy and very easy to grow. Packet is 30 large seeds.

But it's work hard, play hard for this simian samurai. Yachan always finds ways to relax, such as playing the drums or kicking back with a tall frosty one after a hard day's chop-socking

He sometimes dresses up as a gorilla to entertain his Dojo companions, but don't let his playfulness fool you: this primate is always ready to kick butt! Hyaaargh!

Naked swimmer evades police in Tokyo palace moat

TOKYO (Reuters) - A bald, naked man who said he was a British tourist went swimming in the moat of Japan's Imperial Palace on Tuesday, climbing the palace wall, throwing rocks and splashing water at police before being taken into custody.

Television footage showed the tall man getting out of the water at one point, chasing police with a rock and a plastic construction site pole.

He then went back to the murky water and swam across to the other side of the moat, climbing up the 8-meter (9-yard) stone wall of the palace.

He was caught by two policemen, after a chase media said lasted for an hour and a half.

"I've never heard of anyone doing such a thing," an unidentified man at the scene told TV Tokyo. "He must be a bit crazy."

Television showed passers-by gathering around the moat and watching the chase, giggling and taking photos on mobile phones.

Like so many in the USA, I've become increasingly fed up with my country. The last 8 years have been a nightmare of perpetual motion. The presidential election is almost a month away, but let's face it. If Bush's cronies were able to set him up for two terms, then McCain and Palin are practically a shoo-in. When that happens (and it will, just you watch) I would rather be somewhere else. Like The Great White North!

I really enjoyed testing the Strida during the couple of weeks I had it

The belt drive was something else that I was pretty happy with. I was a little skeptical, so I put it through the paces with some hard uphill pedaling and sprints, even once in the rain. The belt performed flawlessly through it all.

The Strida attracted more attention than any other bike I have ridden.

Though it wasn’t bad for short rides, the fit for me was not ideal. I am 6’ 2” tall, and I feel like I was right at the upper limit of rider height that the bike could reasonably accommodate. The bike is sold a “one size fits all”, but it definitely fit my wife, who is about 5’ 7”, better than it fit me.

it would be a great choice for a lot of people. For someone who commutes to work on a subway or bus part of the way

In a dense urban environment where apartments are small and storage space is limited, the Strida would be a good choice as well

Norway cops chase speeding 10-year-old

With police cars wailing behind him, a 10-year-old boy sped and swerved at up to 90km/h along a Norwegian highway on Friday morning before he was finally forced to a halt, police said.

"A 10-year-old boy drove a car for about 20km along the highway at up to 90km/h," Birgit Monsaas, the duty officer at the Soer-Troendelag regional police force in central Norway, said.

"We had to put in patrol cars in front and in back of him, but he didn't want to stop. In the end we had to force him off the road," she said.

Miraculously no one was injured as the boy, hardly tall enough to peak over the steering wheel, zig-zagged and swerved uncontrollably along the busy highway towards the town of Trondheim, several times veering over into the opposite lane, according to media reports.

"The car he was driving was slightly damaged though," Monsaas said.

Police would not comment on how the boy had gained access to the car.

Currently, the world's tallest structure is the soon to be finished the Burj Dubai, which is rumoured to stand at 818 meters. Today, Dubai revealed its successor, the Nakheel Tower, to be "over one kilometre" high and have more than 200 floors.

Katina Haralson reported her 14-year-old daughter, Katrea Young, missing to police after the girl failed to return home from a Bible study class.

It’s likely Young ran away rather than was abducted, her mother said.

Haralson described her daughter as 5 feet tall and weighing 100 pounds with scars on her chin and her left hand. She was last seen wearing a white shirt, blue jeans and white athletic shoes.

“We miss her and we’re begging for her to come home,” Haralson said. “We want whoever is with her to contact us and let us know that she’s OK. Her father and brothers are very worried about her, too.”

GREEN SWAMP PRESERVE, N.C. (AP) — Laura Gadd pauses at the edge of a pristine savanna, delicately lifting her feet to avoid trampling any venus flytraps hidden underfoot.

One of nature's most recognized wonders, the venus flytrap's ability to snatch living prey makes it a favorite of elementary school science classes everywhere. Yet the flytrap is falsely ferocious: It's hardly the man-eating Audrey Jr. from "The Little Shop of Horrors," but a tiny plant only a few inches tall with leaves no bigger than a thumbprint.

These days, the little plant is more vulnerable than ever. And despite its popularity, the people who could protect it seem focused on other problems.

The flytrap's natural habitat exists only within a hundred miles of the Carolinas' coast, where much larger and more territorial plants have always held forth. Booming growth and development along the coast threatens to overrun the few sensitive and thin populations of venus flytraps that still exist in the wild.

A designer is turning heads with his extraordinary space-saving bathroom - which folds out like a giant Swiss Army knife

But this is no ornament or sculpture. It is, in fact, the world's first fold-up vertical bathroom.

Called the Vertebrae, it stacks a toilet, sink, water cistern and two showers into one 8ft-tall steel column.

The Vertebrae is the brainchild of award-winning designer Paul Hernon, of Huddersfield, who created it with small apartments in mind.

'It's designed to utilise vertical space instead of horizontal floor space. It is quick to assemble and easy to maintain - all you need is a wet room to put it in.

'I think it pushes the boundariesof anything that has been done before. People who have seen it are completely blown away.'

They all twist around a steel column which contains all the piping, and each part simply pushes out when it is required.
