The photographic evidence seemed so overwhelming that it was conclusion of the scientific team that Billy Meier's photographs are real.

The photography has not been retouched or manipulated in any detectable way and the conclusion of the sciencific team is that it is authentic in every aspect. The craft measures approximately 48 feet in diameter and is 25 feet tall, it's composition is unknown and it is in no way is suspended by any device detectable. There is no pixel manipulation or overlay created by any artificial means

Kids think Hitler was a football coach

One in 20 British schoolchildren thinks Adolf Hitler was a German football manager, according to a new survey.

One in six youngsters believed Auschwitz was a theme park - and one in 12 thought the Blitz was a European clean-up operation following World War II.

The embarrassing findings are contained in a poll for the veterans' charity Erskine, which asked 2,000 kids aged nine to 11 about the two world wars.

One in four said they did not think about soldiers who died then, and 40% had no idea when Remembrance Day is.

Erskine chief executive Major Jim Panton said: "Some answers to this poll have shocked us and show we have a part to play, not just in caring for veterans but in educating society.

"Children are the future of the country. It is important we help them learn about our history."

The Erskine charity, which provides nursing and medical care for veterans, will now take part in a national scheme to educate kids about the world wars.

Once a gigantic bloom of life that sustained entire societies, the cod fishery was closed in 1992 after a near-total collapse of fish stocks. The subsequent bust of Newfoundland's outport culture was nearly as complete.

Recent surveys on two major caribou herds in Canada's North suggest the same thing may be happening there. And as scientists begin to unlock the secrets of that decline, aboriginals who still depend on the great herds to feed both body and soul are rethinking old assumptions.

"The elders are saying that there is a cycle, that caribou go away somewhere but they come back," Nitsiza said. "This time, the caribou may not come back."

Climate change has long been suspected as being behind the recent widespread declines.

Over 17,000 species threatened by extinction

The Switzerland-based group surveyed 47,677 animals and plants for this year's "Red List" of endangered species, determining that 17,291 of them are at risk of extinction.

More than one in five of all known mammals, over a quarter of reptiles and 70 percent of plants are under threat, according to the survey, which featured over 2,800 new species compared with 2008.

"These results are just the tip of the iceberg," said Craig Hilton-Taylor, who manages the list. He said many more species that have yet to be assessed could also be under serious threat.

"This one we caught right before it went off the planet, but other species surely we didn't catch in time," Mendelson told The Associated Press in a telephone interview.

"When you name a new species you're attached to it, and when that species disappears so quickly it's impossible not to have feelings associated with that," he said. "I'm pretty sad to be honest, really sad."

WASHINGTON – Senate Democrats have blocked a GOP attempt to require next year's census forms to ask people whether they are a U.S. citizen.

The proposal by Louisiana Republican Sen. David Vitter was aimed at excluding immigrants from the population totals that are used to figure the number of congressional representatives for each state. Critics said Vitter's plan would discourage immigrants from responding to the census and would be hugely expensive. They also said that it's long been settled law that the apportionment of congressional seats is determined by the number of people living in each state, regardless of whether they are citizens. A separate survey already collects the data.

The plan fell after a 60-39 procedural vote made it ineligible for attachment to a bill funding the census.

As per the latest reliability survey by Consumer Reports, Japanese cars have once again made it to the top. Out of the 48 models that were ranked in the reliability survey, 33 models were Japanese. This clearly shows the domination of Japanese cars even in the United States when it comes to reliability.

US based Consumer Reports – an independent and nonprofit organization – released their annual survey for car reliability recently. According to this survey, Japanese cars are at top in nine categories among ten categories in the reliability rankings.

Toyota bagged top position for convertibles and sporty coupes with their model Lexus SC, and their FJ Cruiser won the in medium size sport utility vehicles.

As per the Consumer Reports rankings published by brands, seven Japanese brands are in the top ten positions.
