I felt lucky to have a wild sunset in Yellowstone! I’ve probably been to Yellowstone 5 or 6 times, and you never know what you’ll get! This night was perfect… I had woken up early, so I was tired by mid-afternoon.. I took a catnap in my car and woke up to see the sun was going down in less than an hour! So, I looked at my map and figured out some good spots to go. While walking down this little dirt road, I thought the sky was too perfect to ignore, so I set up for a quick shot!

Persimmon Bundt Cake

Fuyu Bundt Cake

An outstanding cake published some years ago in Sunset magazine.

Grease and flour a bundt cake pan. Preheat oven to 350.

Blend 2 tsp. baking soda into 3 cups of chopped firm Fuyus. Set aside.

In a large bowl, beat 1/2 cup soft butter with 1 2/3 cups sugar. Add 2 eggs, 2 tsp. lemon juice, and 2 tsp. vanilla and beat until fluffy. Stir in Fuyu mix.

Sift together 2 cups flour, 1 tsp. baking powder, 1 tsp. salt, 1 tsp. ground cloves, 1 tsp. cinnamon, and 1/2 tsp. nutmeg. Stir flour into Fuyu mixture just until blended. Add 1 cup chopped walnuts and 3/4 cup raisins.

Pour into prepared bundt pan. Bake at 350 for 55 - 60 minutes or until toothpick tests clean. Cool in pan 15 minutes. Turn onto rack.

Washington (AP) - U.S. taxpayers spent about $32 subsidizing the cost of the typical Amtrak passenger in 2008, about four times the rail operator's estimate, according to a private study.

Leading the list was the train traveling between San Antonio and Los Angeles -- the Sunset Limited -- which lost $462 per passenger. Taxpayers subsidize the losses to keep the passenger train service running.

The Northeast corridor has the highest passenger volume of any Amtrak route, greatly enhancing efficiency. The corridor's high-speed Acela Express made a profit of about $41 per passenger. The more heavily utilized Northeast Regional lost almost $5 per passenger.

The Government Accountability Office had previously said the omission of depreciation substantially understates the capital expenses associated with Amtrak's routes.

On a misty Valentine’s Day, as Robby sat on a Florida beach with a college classmate named Danielle Arellano, he sensed he’d found the perfect partner.

After watching a pink sunset and eating fresh berries, Robby turned to Danielle and said, “I have something to tell you.

“I have HIV.”

Robby’s mom, Lorri Kovach, had prepared her son for this moment years earlier.

Upset, Robby asked: “What if she doesn’t want to be with me?”

“Well, if she doesn’t, that’s her choice,” replied his mother. “But if she does, think how wonderful that will make you feel to have that understanding.”

Five days later, Danielle made her decision. She left a handwritten note on Robby’s doorstep with a vine wreath with flowers and a clay dolphin she made for him.

The Dead Sea, yes so dead that no species can inhabit in it. Not really because it’s dead but more because of the percentage of salt in the water. Also called the sea of salt. It is the deepest hypersaline body of water in the world. It is also 8 times more saltier then an ocean. The shores of lake around it are the most deepest hypersaline lake in the world and the lowest place in the surface of the earth.

The Mount Fuji, one of the three holy mountains in Japan and the highest mountain in the main Island of Japan. The peak is at 3,77meters. It can be seen from the trains passing near it on clear days. The Mountain is surrounded by 4 lakes and from each of the lakes you get an amazing view at the mountain, specially at sunset.

A sea of hills, is there such thing? Yes, your answer would be the Chocolate Hills in Philippines.
