Tum Mile Movie Review

Ali Taha (Emraan Hashmi) and Sanjana (Soha Ali Khan) are two people with a history, on a flight back to Mumbai.

They land in Mumbai to witness the devastating Mumbai monsoon on 26th July 2005.

While they struggle to make it through the flooded streets of Mumbai, the past catches up with them – how they met and how it ended.

As the rain’s fury beats down on the city, Ali and Sanjana discover each other all over again.

Sanchez offered two versions of how they came into contact with the marijuana; at one point he said that his wife took the marijuana out of his police vehicle while he was sleeping. In a subsequent interview, he admitted he got the marijuana out of the car himself and put it in the brownie mix, police said.

His wife, 26-year old Stacy Sanchez, voluntarily told police investigators that on another occasion, she removed cocaine from her husband's police cruiser that was part of the department's drug dog training program. She then went on a reported three-week coke binge. Stacy Sanchez has not been charged criminally either.

The Dearborn Police department's choice to not pursue a case against former Cpl. Edward Sanchez led to an outcry from several notable people in Michigan, including Dearborn City Councilman Doug Thomas.

In other words, he had a direct -- and vast -- financial stake in the very policies which he was publicly advocating in The New York Times, The Washington Post, and countless other American media outlets, where he was presented as an independent expert on the region. Galbraith has never expressed any such regrets, and last November, he was openly scornful of Bush's late-term agreement to withdraw from Iraq completely. The revelation that for many years Galbraith had a quite undisclosed financial interest in the political breakup of Iraq may now further reduce the clout, and the ranks, of the remaining liberal hawks.

The New York Times today details the unbelievably sleazy story of Peter Galbraith, one of the Democratic Party's leading so-called "liberal hawks" and a generally revered Wise Man of America's Foreign Policy Community. He was Ambassador to Croatia under the Clinton administration in the mid-1990s and, in March, 2009, the Obama administration (specifically, Richard Holbrooke, Galbraith's mentor) successfully pressured the U.N. to name Galbraith as the second-in-command in Afghanistan. The NYT does a good job today of adding some important details to the story, but it was actually uncovered by Norwegian investigative journalists and reported at length a month ago in pieces such as this one by Helena Cobban. In essence, this highly Serious man has corruptly concealed vast financial stakes in the very policies and positions he has spent years advocating while pretending to be an independent expert.

I enjoyed watching this movie with my cousins. The movie was really funny and romantic. I love the character of Margarete Tate (Sandra Bullock)- she plays an executive chief-editor in a publishing company. I like her because she's strict and selfish but deep inside is a soft and genial heart. Actually I love how the story runs. Yeah, plus the handsome Andrew Paxton (Ryan Reynolds) really did a great job- to capture every viewer's hearts. You better watch it. But I was somewhat disappointed because there are "blasphemy" words in some of the dialogs-get rid of it.

Before our adoption, pregnant friends rubbed their bellies and said: “The older they are the more problems you’ll have.” “You must feel desperate,” one said. “Do you think they’re even capable of loving you?”  I didn’t think those things but struggled with one other unofficial yet painfully true reasons of why I wanted an older child, not a baby. I looked down on those other mothers, so engrossed in their children they couldn’t even talk on the phone let alone brush their hair. I wouldn’t be trapped, not like them, for 18-plus years. I mean, what if the kid never left? Ultimately, however, I was ashamed. Babies, with their hands the size of rose petals and toes like creamy pebbles were natural. My lack of maternal instinct was not.    

I’m not going to lie: 2009 was the year I looked forward to ever since I became a mother. It’s what gave me the courage to have my girls in the first place—knowing someday they’d leave.
