Hot Mormon Moms Pose for Calendar

Twelve Mormon moms are putting modesty aside and becoming calendar girls -- all in the name of raising breast cancer research dollars.

"Hot Mormon Muffins" features the "Devout Dozen" -- moms touting recipes alongside revealing outfits and suggestive poses. The calendars cost $15.99.

As expected, the calendar has raised concern in the Mormon community.

Tami Roberts is "Miss May" and says she sees no reason for her church to be upset.

"We're not all in a stereotype, we're not all the same. And I'm not a stereotypical Mormon for sure," Roberts said.

She doesn't believe posing for the calender is a violation of her faith, but instead a way to challenge the misconceptions of her religion.

The church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is not commenting.

Chad Hardy, the calendar's creator, was denied a diploma from Brigham Young University and stripped of his church membership when he developed a 2008 calendar called "Men on a Mission" that featured partially-nude Mormon men.

A Berlin woman is waging a lone campaign against neo-Nazi graffiti, armed with a scraper and nail-varnish remover. Irmela Mensah-Schramm, 63, removes swastikas and racist stickers from lampposts and walls across the city. It's an endless battle against neo-Nazi youths, passersby who file legal complaints, and above all indifference.

You get more Nazi muck hanging up around this well-off area than in any working-class housing estate in Berlin

"I was angry that I hadn't scratched the sticker off," she recalls. She returned that evening and it was still hanging there. She couldn't understand why the many people who had waited at the bus stop that day hadn't bothered to remove it. "So I decided to stop looking the other way," she says.

Obama's controversial and embattled "safe schools czar," Kevin Jennings, has helped fund a pornographic, anti-Catholic and sado-masochistic art display currently being shown at Harvard University, reports massresistance.org.

The Harvard exhibition, entitled, ACT UP New York: Activism, Art, and the AIDS Crisis, 1987-1993, chronicles the efforts of the homosexual civil disobedience group, Aids Coalition To Unleash Power (ACT UP), through the graphic stickers, posters, and other visual media used as propaganda in the early years of the homosexualist movement.

Other posters include a variety of offensive images and messages. One image calls President Ronald Reagan a murderer and President George H.W. Bush a serial killer, for their perceived negligence in not using tax dollars to help those with AIDS.

In another part of the museum one finds text apparently describing an adult's violent sexual assault on a child.

My perfect stick figure family

I'd maybe get a set of stick figure stickers if I could find the ones I'm looking for – three kids, a guinea pig, a fish, two cats, a step dad, a mother, and a pair of dogs with a line through them because I lost them in the divorce. Though I'm not sure there is enough room on the back glass for that much honesty.

I've been seeing these stick figure families on the back windows of cars for a while now. At first I thought they were advertising something. I guess they are in a way – a nuclear, happy family.

The stick figures are happy, no, thrilled to be part of the stick figure family. Even the dogs look happy and well behaved. Here we are, say the stick figures, a nice, big, happy family, in the very car in front of you. Look at all this awesomeness!

I'm not sure if people feel more compelled to have these sticker sets when they are an intact family or not, but to be sure, these are the only stickers I see. Single moms, children raised by grandparents, parents with just one child, either those people simply have better things to do than seek out custom made stick figure cats or no one is making these kinds of stickers.

Where are the realistic stick figure families?

Once I saw what I'm sure was a satirical nod to these stickers: a solitary stick figure female. Next to her, a cat. That's all.

Firefighter suspended for refusing to peel American flag sticker from locker

Chester, Pa., firefighter James Krapf wants to know what's wrong with Old Glory. The 11-year veteran was suspended without pay Thursday after he refused to peel a sticker of the American flag from his locker.

"It's pride…it's a matter of pride," Krapf said.

A new department rule mandates that all stickers and statements – union, cartoon and political – be stripped from lockers

But Krapf figured the red, white and blue was safe.

"The chief came out and said 'You have to remove your stickers,' I said 'No disrespect chief, but I'm not taking the flag off,'" Krapf recounted. He says the officer then asked him to leave.

Fire Commissioner James Johnson, who served in the Marine Corps, vows the symbolism of the decal is not the issue.

"We wear the American flag on our uniform…it's flying outside that station," he said.

But Krapf refuses to give up and he's not alone. The firefighters union plans to negotiate with the department on the issue.
