Circuit boards, switches, bytes, gigs...it all just runs together in my head. But when the techno aspect merges with the visual I can get a grip on it. Such is the case with Vomitsaw's clever conception of the circuit board skull bracelet. This is truly a cool idea that appeals to the masses, especially this time of year when skulls are so hip.

You will need:

Some circuit board

Wire

AV plugs

Some cleverness

There are rumors that they will be for sale.

<clipSource>http://www.diylife.com/2007/09/18/cool-circuit-board-skull-bracelet-just-in-time-for-halloween/</clipSource>

A French Woman’s Breakfast

clipped by: prakash08
clipper's remarks: I love French Women Don’t Get Fat (FWDGF) because there’s not a specific meal plan I have to stick to. There are painfully real reasons why America's savers feel they've got the short end of the stick

American savers, take a bow. This is your moment of vindication. Your hour of glory. And you earned it (in a manner of speaking).

You resisted the siren call of plastic teaser APRs, dutifully living within your means to store money for a rainy day. You never took out an interest-only mortgage. Never had to pawn the copper pipes from your exurban McMansion to pay the reset on your liar loan. Your credit score would have gotten you into Harvard at age 12.

Good for you! Your reward: injurious savings yields, inflationary rot, and election-season neglect, all served up with a dollop of institutional insecurity.

remove a bees' nest from a shed on their property with the aid of a
pineapple. A pineapple is an illegal firecracker which is the explosive
equivalent of one-half stick of dynamite. They ignited the fuse and
retreated to watch from inside their home, behind a window some 10 feet
away from the hive/shed. The concussion of the explosion shattered
the window inwards, seriously lacerating Ani. Deciding Mr. Saduki
needed stitches, the brothers headed out to go to a nearby hospital.
While walking towards their car, Ani was stung three times by the
surviving bees. Unbeknownst to either brother, Ani was allergic to bee
venom, and died of suffocation en-route to the hospital.

Often designers feel that when designing we have to put every new cool trendy script in our sites to make sure the client is simply blown off their feet. Designers really need to stick to the good old fashioned KISS (Keep It Simple STUPID).

I know it’s not the easiest thing to do, especially with the many distractions on the web. This post is all about keeping it simple, these 48 sites all showcase great ways on keeping design to a minimum and by doing this allowing the most important part of the site to be shown… the content. I hope you enjoy this post, it might not be dazzling and breathtaking but, you can get a great sense of what makes these sites work very well.

Tags: webdesign

<clipSource>http://inspiredology.com/keep-it-simple-stupid-48-super-simple-clean-websites/</clipSource>

e-bullion - Federal Judge refuses to review no-bail status of James Fayed

clipped by: tdsmum
clipper's remarks: Reported today by Latimes.below with snips from dgcmagazine blog & Crimefile News.

Click on urls below to read full articles.

Clip Source: www.dgcmagazine.com

Digital Currency Blog

Clip Source: www.dgcmagazine.com

Humiliation will do that.
That said, the experience of the years since 2000 — the memory of what happened to working Americans when faux-populist Republicans controlled the government — is still fairly fresh in voters’ minds. Furthermore, while Democrats’ supposed contempt for ordinary people is mainly a figment of Republican imagination, the G.O.P. really is the Gramm Old Party — it really does believe that the economy is just fine, and the fact that most Americans disagree just shows that we’re a nation of whiners.

But the Democrats can’t afford to be complacent. Resentment, no matter how contrived, is a powerful force.

Clip Source: www.nytimes.com

Can the super-rich former governor of Massachusetts — the son of a Fortune 500 C.E.O. who made a vast fortune in the leveraged-buyout business — really keep a straight face while denouncing “Eastern elites”?

Can the former mayor of New York City, a man who, as USA Today put it, “marched in gay pride parades, dressed up in drag and lived temporarily with a gay couple and their Shih Tzu” — that was between his second and third marriages — really get away with saying that Barack Obama doesn’t think small towns are sufficiently “cosmopolitan”?

Yes, they can.

But don’t be fooled either by Mr. McCain’s long-ago reputation as a maverick or by Ms. Palin’s appealing persona: the Republican Party, now more than ever, is firmly in the hands of the angry right, which has always been much bigger, much more influential and much angrier than its counterpart on the other side.

What’s the source of all that anger?

<clipSource>http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/05/opinion/05krugman.html?em</clipSource>

new vows

clipped by: mjmuldoon

Clip Source: www.huffingtonpost.com

Do you, Elizabeth and David, acknowledge that you have a bad relationship?
(We Do)
Do you admit that you fight constantly, hardly ever have sex and drive each other nuts?
(We Do)
And do you agree to stick it out anyway and spend your lives together in misery but at least happy that you aren't apart?
(We Do)

How many relationships slip unconsciously into that kind of entanglement? In our view, far too many. We propose a new approach. Conscious loving is founded on a set of principles and practices completely opposite from the ones David and Elizabeth considered.

What would a new set of wedding vows be based on? Emotional transparency, for sure. In working with thousands of couples, we have heard the complaint "You never tell me how you're feeling" many thousands of times. It takes courage, and a great deal of practice, to be able to talk about feelings in a straightforward way. We've seen many arguments stop when one person has the courage to say "I'm scared" or "I'm sad."

<clipSource>http://www.huffingtonpost.com/kathlyn-and-gay-hendricks/the-art-of-conscious-lovi_b_120988.html</clipSource>

Greetings from "the angry left"

clipped by: papananook
clipper's remarks: Great column...Read all for the full bene's.
Speaking about Bush's jingoistic label...
So then, trust me when I say, try as they might, "the angry left" won't stick. Ah, roses. Their heady fragrance and delicate petals glistening with dew could soften the hardest heart.

They bead, rather than
spread—and that's because the material composing the petal surface
doesn't bond well with water.

Yet the droplets don't roll off. What binds them to the petals?

To find out, a team of chemists led by Lin Feng of Tsinghua
University in Beijing peered at the petals with a scanning electron
microscope. What they saw was a carpet of minuscule bumps covered with
even tinier ridges. To confirm that those structures — and not the
chemical makeup of the petals — are what grip the water droplets,
Feng's team made a plastic cast of the petal surface. As with the
original petal, water droplets stuck to the cast, even when it was
turned upside down.
