While baking soda has long been thought to provide added benefit for athletes, new medical research shows that it definitely improves the performance of sprinters in events lasting up to 2 minutes. The results of the study should have immediate implications for runners, swimmers and athletes who play games like football and soccer. According to Polish Medical Translation professionals at the center that conducted the study, baking soda (sodium bicarbonate), increases blood bicarbonate, which acts as a buffer against metabolic acids. As a downside, taking baking soda can leave an athlete feeling nauseated.

I recently learned about a unique aerobic stepper called the X-iser. The X-iser is unlike any other stair stepper on the market, so I want to let my website visitors know about it.

What makes the X-iser so unique is that it enables anyone, regardless of age or fitness level, to do sprint training. Sprint training is a form of high intensity interval training (HIIT), and it's one of the best ways to improve cardiovascular fitness and burn body fat. I'm a big proponent of sprint training, as I've been doing sprint workouts on a regular basis for over 10 years. The X-iser enables anyone to experience the benefits of sprint training without having to go to a track and run sprints.

Even though the X-iser has been around for many years, it's only now gaining more widespread popularity as an increasing amount of research shows just how beneficial high intensity interval training is. Many fitness experts are now recommending HIIT instead of traditional aerobic exercise.

Eating 100 to 300 calories of a pre-exercise snack even 5 minutes prior to running enhances performance, assuming:
1) you will be running at a pace you can maintain for more than 30 minutes and
2) you can tolerate pre-run food.
In a study where the subjects ate dinner, and then the next morning exercised to exhaustion, they lasted 109 minutes with no breakfast, 136 minutes with breakfast (400 calories, equivalent to a bowl of Wheaties with milk and a banana).
In another study, athletes biked hard for 45 minutes, and then sprinted as hard as they could for 15 minutes. When they ate a 180 or 270-calorie snack just five minutes before they exercised, they improved 10% in the last 15 minutes. They improved 20% when they had eaten a meal four hours prior to the exercise, then the snack 5 minutes pre-exercise.
This means: Eat breakfast and lunch, plus a pre-run snack and you’ll have a stellar afternoon workout!
