clipper's remarks: I picked a few of my favourites. See the list and lyrics at the site. I couldn't get through life without music as a backdrop. Where would we be without it? If you need a rest from politics, just copy/paste a title and go youtubing. Even sad songs can make you happy.

I heard this song when I was a little girl and my Dad told me it was about a dog (that probably drowned) and I bawled my eyes out! I still do!

The odd thing about sad songs is that they can be happy songs as well. That song that meant everything good with the old girlfriend can make you cry with the opening notes today.

AUSTIN -- In a dark blue pin-striped suit, crisp white dress shirt, snug red tie and shiny brown dress shoes, El Paso Mayor John Cook sure didn't look like any folk singer.

But he slung one knee over the other, braced his guitar and belted out a couple songs Wednesday night in Austin just as he has in five other cities across the state, playing with a variety of musicians promoting abolition of the death penalty in Texas.

(IsraelNN.com) At 1:00 P.M., a group of Land of Israel activists from the Im Tirzu movement arrived at the IDF checkpoint near Na'alin, singing patriotic songs. They had come to hand out food and drink to the soldiers and to express support for the construction of a security barrier at the location.

Arabs and radical anarchist sympathizers immediately began hurling rocks and insults at the Jewish group. The military responded with tear gas and stun grenades against the Arabs. A military jeep drove the Arab rioters back into the village of Na'alin. An Arab fire truck and ambulance arrived on the scene but no reports of Arab or leftist injuries could be confirmed.

Arabs also attacked an Israeli-licensed vehicle with rocks Friday near Na'alin. The vehicle was damaged but no one was hurt.

Extremely sharp and incisive. I learned a lot.
I think Mr. Arthur is a bit too quick to be interpreting Steve's algorithm at this point. I find that the program is genius in large part because while Steve Jobs and Apple™ know the tempo of every song to a frightening accuracy. Five seconds of silent thought will tell you the reasons Mr. Jobs will not fill in a BPM (beats per minute) column. To truly understand the tempo manipulation: you;d need to see the algorithm itself! So said, knowing the speeds of the songs I play on drums (it's the drums or the treadmill - I'm doing the exercise thing), I find the program to be almost wildly genius. What's wildly evil os that
1) Apple knows but will not divulge BPM;
2) Apple uses the tempo element of you collection on playlists made for you that are so good that when I play I do not even look at what is coming next as iy has all been so

The "Genius" feature in the latest version of iTunes is getting a lot of attention: you pick a track in your iTunes library, and after a bit of munching away – and talking to Apple's online servers at the iTunes Store – it will come up with a list of 25 or more tracks that it thinks "go with" the track you selected.

This feature is probably the most valuable piece of coding that any group of people has ever written. By my calculations it's worth about $8.4 billion.

The rapport between Parvathi and Trivikram started from 'Jalsa' where he gifted her with a necklace as well. Now Tamannah is not comfortable with all this and feels that she is not being given proper attention because of her. The Hubbert Peak Theory of Rock, or, Why We’re All Out of Good Songs

Many rock purists and music snobs (myself included) often lament the quality of most modern pop/rock music. “Music these days is so trite and derivative,” they say. “It’s just been downhill since the 60’s and 70’s. Those were the days.”

A few years ago, Rolling Stone magazine added fuel to the music snobbery fire with its “500 Greatest Songs of All Time” list. Anyone casually paging through the list would notice that the bulk of the list was comprised of songs from the 60’s and 70’s, just like the music snobs always say.

I, however, wasn’t content with the casual analysis. So I punched the list into Excel, crunched some numbers, and found an interesting parallel between the decline of rock music quality and, of all things, the decline in US oil discovery and production:
