Bush knew how to act as Commander In Chief when it came to making decisions about what his hand-picked generals were requesting. Barack Obama on the other hand doesn't know how to act as Commander In Chief when it comes to commanding the military.

There is no way to forget the daily shellacking that George W. Bush took during his entire presidency. On some days and on some issues it could get pretty horrific. The far-left fringe were relentless in their attacks and the media just fell right in line with them....and anyone was just plain dumb if they didn't believe what they were saying. George W. Bush couldn't smile without there being an ulterior motive behind it. Bush was so many things, from dumb and lazy, to a liar and conniver and even believed to be a criminal at times. Imagine the outrage coming from the left if Bush had fallen so short of the targeted number of H1N1 Swine Flu vaccine dosages....like by 85 million dosages short. Imagine the outrage if Bush had condoned then House Speaker Dennis Hastert conducting closed door meetings with Republican leaders on nationalized health care, or anything for that matter, and didn't include Democrats or the American public in on the proceedings in those meetings.

Coincidence? Socialist Countries Facing Blackouts

President Hugo Chávez has been facing a public outcry in recent weeks over power failures that, after six nationwide blackouts in the last two years, are cutting electricity for hours each day in rural areas and in industrial cities like Valencia and Ciudad Guayana. Now, water rationing has been introduced here in the capital.

The deterioration of services is perplexing to many here, especially because the country had grown used to cheap, plentiful electricity and water in recent decades. But even as the oil boom was enriching his government and Mr. Chávez asserted greater control over utilities and other industries in this decade, public services seemed only to decay, adding to residents’ frustrations.

The planet is in great danger from environmental despoliation, due to an unjustified reliance on private property rights. Taxes are too low; they should be raised. Charity is an insult to the poor, who must obtain more revenues by right, not condescension. Diversity is the sine qua non of the fair society. Discrimination is one of the greatest evils to have ever beset mankind. Use of terminology such as "mankind" is sexist, and constitutes hate speech.

Last Thursday there was a rally outside the U.S. Capitol to protest pending health care legislation, featuring the kinds of things we’ve grown accustomed to, including large signs showing piles of bodies at Dachau with the caption “National Socialist Healthcare.”

It was sponsored by the House Republican leadership

What all this shows is that the G.O.P. has been taken over by the people it used to exploit.

At this point Newt Gingrich is what passes for a sober, reasonable elder statesman of the G.O.P.

And he has no authority

Real power in the party rests, instead, with the likes of Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin

The point is that the takeover of the Republican Party by the irrational right is no laughing matter. Something unprecedented is happening here — and it’s very bad for America.

Dana Milbank Is, as Mark Levin Describes Him, "A Punk, a Liar and a Coward"

clipper's remarks: Constitutional attorney, bestselling author and hit radio show host Mark Levin certainly doesn't mince words. Alerted to Milbank's latest hit piece in The Washington Post, Levin called Milbank out as a propagandist of the first order.

The reason: out of literally tens of thousands of patriotic signs and shirts at Thursday's Capitol Hill protest, Milbank picked out a handful as supposedly representative of a crowd he described as "hateful and gruesome."

An outraged Levin called Milbank a "punk, a liar and a coward" while challenging him to a debate on his show.

Here's a Nazi reference that Milbank might appreciate: I think of him as the Josef Goebbels of his age. He writes patent propaganda in service of the State. And I can prove it.

In the front of the protest, a sign showed President Obama in white coat, his face painted to look like the Joker. The sign, visible to the lawmakers as they looked into the cameras, carried a plea to "Stop Obamunism." A few steps farther was the guy holding a sign announcing "Obama takes his orders from the Rothchilds" [sic], accusing Obama of being part of a Jewish plot to introduce the antichrist.

But the best of Bachmann's recruits were a few rows into the crowd, holding aloft a pair of 5-by-8-foot banners proclaiming "National Socialist Healthcare, Dachau, Germany, 1945." Both banners showed close-up photographs of Holocaust victims, many of them children....

"Who knew a casual comment on TV could generate this?" Rep. Jeb Hensarling (Tex.) exulted as he stood in front of the Dachau banner.

Now, objecting to the health-care bill is one thing. But doesn't it send the wrong message for House Republicans to hold an event on the Capitol grounds full of hateful and gruesome words

How is it that the Federal government can force you to buy something? Private property rights are trampled, the government thinks it can tell you to buy something or face jail and/or tax penalties.

This also then means every American's private and personal health information will be put into a data-base system, the end of privacy. Your health care, and body, will belong to the Collectivist Society now and the Government, which will no doubt link this to your National ID Card (REAL ID and PASS ID system)--increasing the Electronic Leash on "free" Americans.

House narrowly passes landmark health care bill

The 220-215 vote cleared the way for the Senate to begin debate on the issue that has come to overshadow all others in Congress.

Republican opposition was nearly unanimous.

A triumphant Speaker Nancy Pelosi likened the legislation to the passage of Social Security in 1935 and Medicare 30 years later.

In the run-up to a final vote, conservatives from the two political parties joined forces to impose tough new restrictions on abortion coverage in insurance policies to be sold to many individuals and small groups. They prevailed on a roll call of 240-194.

Ironically, that only solidified support for the legislation, clearing the way for conservative Democrats to vote for it.

The legislation would require most Americans to carry insurance and provide federal subsidies to those who otherwise could not afford it. Large companies would have to offer coverage to their employees.

This paper seeks to estimate the number of "missing children," "missing literates," and "missing non-poor" resulting from delayed reform, slower economic growth, and hence, slower improvement of social indicators. It finds that with earlier reform, 14.5 million more children would have survived, 261 million more Indians would have become literate, and 109 million more people would have risen above the poverty line. The delay in economic reform represents an enormous social tragedy. It drives home the point that India's socialist era, which claimed it would deliver growth with social justice, delivered neither.

As the world approaches the 20th anniversary of the fall of communism, it is worth investigating the costs borne by countries like India that did not become communist but drew heavily on the Soviet model. For three decades after its independence in 1947, India strove for self-sufficiency instead of the gains of international trade, and gave the state an ever-increasing role in controlling the means of production. These policies yielded economic growth of 3.5 percent per year, which was half that of export-oriented Asian countries, and yielded slow progress in social indicators, too. Growth per capita in India was even slower, at 1.49 percent per year. It accelerated after reforms started tentatively in 1981, and shot up to 6.78 percent per year after reforms deepened in the current decade.

Trick or Treat: The neighborhood kids come around for a hand-out of candy, dressed up to scare or delight. You turn your lights on and decorate to lure them to your home and drop a Snickers of Almond Joy into a bag or pillow case. If you opt not to give the kids candy, you simply turn off the light and the hoards of sugar-crazed children go elsewhere to harvest.

It's up to you. Decide to participate or not to participate as you are moved to do. If you don't turn your light on, you miss the kids decked out in their finest. I buy two or three bags of the good candy from Costco and stand by for the ghosts and goblins to arrive, flanked by caring parents.

I did the same a many Americans who were too lazy to cook on a Saturday Halloween night - I ordered a pizza.

Can you believe it? When the pizza delivery guy brought a fresh, hot, fragrant pizza, he expected me to pay for it! He was a white kid - likely a racist and a capitalist
