More women use public transport than men

The UK's towns and cities are designed primarily for men, not women, says a study. So what's the difference?

If a town was designed solely for women, how would it look?

If you think it would have more nail bars, shoe shops and coffee shops selling skinny lattes, then think again.

Travel is one example. Studies show women make more complex journeys than men, dropping children off at school, going to work, getting the shopping before going home.

In contrast, men tend to just travel straight to work and back again.

Women tend to worry about their safety at night more and want better lighting in public spaces. Others find pavements difficult for buggies," she said. "They are problems which affect us every day."

But Dr Greed's key battleground is on public toilets. She says many women have said their closure is a big problem.

Be careful on what you do on internet cafés from the 23 august in Thailand. The new cyber law requires internet cafes to save your data for 90 days with your ID card or passport. If you work the company that you work on will also have to save the internet cash for 90 days. If the company does not save the data they can be fined 500 000 THB and yes we know its ridiculous.
Remember not to visit any adult site or blocked sites trough proxy since that also is illegal.

Pol Col Yannapol Youngyuen, Commander of the Bureau of Technology and Cyber Crime at the Department of Special Investigation, said the IT Ministry order has no exceptions and will include banks, hotels, schools, and internet cafes. He said internet cafes will also be required to collect information to identify computer users, such as ID cards and passports time of logging in, and sites visited. Shops that fail to heed the rules will face fines up to 500,000 baht

I have been looking for a refreshing and tasty drink to include more fruits in my diet. An innovative recipe that would be very different from the boring everyday beverages is what I had in mind. My explorations in the world of food led me to this marvelous discovery –smoothies- a wide variety just waiting to be explored.

Smoothies made their entry on the food scene in the United States in the 1960s. However, at the time it was limited to only health food stores. Today, smoothies are a very popular beverage and are available at cafes and coffee shops all over. There are now also “smoothie bars” that are dedicated solely to the tasty beverage.

Besides the terrible killings inflicted by the fanatics on those who refuse to pledge allegiance to them, Al-Qa'eda has lost credibility for enforcing a series of rules imposing their way of thought on the most mundane aspects of everyday life.

They include a ban on women buying suggestively-shaped vegetables, according to one tribal leader in the western province of Anbar.

Sheikh Hameed al-Hayyes, a Sunni elder, told Reuters: "They even killed female goats because their private parts were not covered and their tails were pointed upward, which they said was haram.

"They regarded the cucumber as male and tomato as female. Women were not allowed to buy cucumbers, only men."

Other farcical stipulations include an edict not to buy or sell ice-cream, because it did not exist in the time of the Prophet, while hair salons and shops selling cosmetics have also been bombed.

On vacation last week in Hilton Head I was able to try some local coffee shops. I like Starbucks as they have a consistency that I can appreciate.

However I also like trying smaller local owned places. One of my barometers is to try straight espresso. I judge the coffee shop by this and I was pleasantly surprised by the taste at …geez just turned 41 and can’t remember the name of the shop.

Anyway the espresso they served was made by Illy Caffe. And it was probably the best I have tried. I have seen this sold in a few places like World Market and some local Italian grocers.
