a shoe tree starts when one person fires their pair up into the branches. Normally the madness stops here…but sometimes, when the tree is near a major thoroughfare, people notice. And those people, being Americans, decide, without much thought, to throw their shoes at the tree as well.

GORDON Brown has outlined plans to recapture the political agenda by acting like your old gran.

clipper's remarks: Once again we're presented with the curious sight of grown people (at least in a chronological sense) getting in a lather over a display that is contrary to their sacred view of the world. Fear seems to be the driving force behind most of the actions of religious people and that fear is exhibited here. Predictably, their response is unfortunately representative of a school yard fight instead of adults addressing a difference of opinion. We'll get to it! You can imagine their moral outrage if the shoe was on the other foot. Acceptance is a concept that they have yet to learn.

Atheist Protests Location Of Tree

VERNON - — The leader of the atheist organization that placed a display in Central Park in Rockville has asked town officials to move a Christmas tree placed in the park by town employees that partially obscures the atheist display.

In the letter, Himes said he expected McCoy to order the tree be moved away from the atheists' display. He also asked that the workers who installed the tree be admonished.

"I hope that the workers responsible for this unfortunate incident are informed that this sort of thing only makes the Town of Vernon look foolish, although we are not requesting that any disciplinary action be taken." Town officials said the two employees who placed the tree in the park were simply following orders.

It is a three-sided structure that on two sides features an image of the twin towers of the World Trade Center and is framed by the words "Imagine No Religion."

Christians Protest Government Endorsement of Religion... Buddhism!

When there are protests of government favoritism towards religion, like in the context of special displays on government property, they usually involve Christians being favored. Now, though, the shoe is on the other foot: conservative evangelicals who usually defend such displays are protesting one — because it is about Buddhism. Especially ironic is that they are effectively protesting something which they helped make possible.

In Bloomington, Indiana, there is an exhibit in the city hall to mark the visit of the Dalai Lama to the city's Tibetan Culture Center and his lecture at the University of Indiana. In addition to photographs and craft work, there are religion-related items like statues of Buddha, religious cloth paintings, and a Peace Tree. The Christians who are protesting don't seem to realize that this exhibit is legal precisely because of rules which they have championed in defense of their own Ten Commandments monuments

Amusement Parks

An amusement park is always fun to visit on a hot summer
microphone. When you get there, you can rent a
tree and go for a swim. And there are lots of
sexy things to eat. You can start off with a hot dog on
a/an penny with mustard, relish, and wax sulptures
on it. Then you can have a buttered ear of shoe with a
nice bright slice of watermelon and a big bottle of
cold Clorox. When you are full, it's time to go on the
roller coaster, which should settle your bagel.
Other amusement park rides are the Dodge-Em which has little
doorknobs, that you drive and run into other papers,
and the Merry-Go-Round where you can sit on a big ceiling tile
and try to grab the gold apple as you ride past.
