An Oviedo police officer resigned this morning after his naked pictures and ads soliciting sex from married couples, as well as single men and women, surfaced on the internet.

Lt. George Ilemsky of the Oviedo Police Department said Officer Scott Woodlee, 49, had initially been relieved of duty following an internal affairs investigation Wednesday. That probe determined that Woodlee, a 12-year veteran of the Oviedo police department, violated the agency's standard of conduct.

"It's conduct unbecoming of an officer," said Lt. George Ilemsky. "There is nothing criminal here. It is strictly administrative."

Ilemsky said police were tipped off about Woodlee's racy pictures posted on CraigsList, an online classifieds website. The photos were posted under the 'Casual Encounters' section. According to police, Woodlee's pictures showed him in various sexual positions.

The pictures were later removed from the site.

Polish Catholics fund treatment centre to 'cure' homosexuals

The Roman Catholic Church has helped set up a rehabilitation centre in Poland that attempts to 'cure' homosexuality.

Last week as countries around the world marked the International Day Against Homophobia (IDAHO) the Polish rehabilitation centre 'Odwaga' opened its doors to the media.

Among the centre's activities are football lessons for men and cooking classes for women.

The American Psychiatric Association issued a critical statement backed by numerous other mainstream medical organisations, which stated:

"There is simply no sufficiently scientifically sound evidence that sexual orientation can be changed."

The statement went on to say that positions espoused by ex-gay organizations, "are not supported by the science" and that they "create an environment in which prejudice and discrimination can flourish."

US and Russian astronauts have had sex in space for separate research programmes on how human beings might survive years in orbit, according to a book published yesterday.

Pierre Kohler, a respected French scientific writer, says in The Final Mission: Mir, The Human Adventure that the subject is taboo both at Nasa and at mission control in Moscow, but that cosmic couplings have taken place.

"The issue of sex in space is a serious one," he says. "The experiments carried out so far relate to missions planned for married couples on the future International Space Station, the successor to Mir. Scientists need to know how far sexual relations are possible without gravity."

He cites a confidential Nasa report on a space shuttle mission in 1996. A project codenamed STS-XX was to explore sexual positions possible in a weightless atmosphere.

BEIJING (Reuters) - A Chinese anti-virus company has warned against free downloads of Ang Lee's steamy spy thriller, "Lust, Caution", saying several hundred sites offering the service were embedded with viruses.

And Chinese doctors have warned moviegoers not to try some of the more ambitious sexual positions featured in the uncut version of the film.

Set in World War Two Shanghai, "Lust, Caution," features long and sometimes violent sex scenes that director Lee has hinted were real.

Lee, who won the best director Oscar in 2005 for his controversial gay cowboy drama "Brokeback Mountain", personally cut on-screen sex and other scenes in "Lust Caution" to allow it to pass Chinese censors and screen on the mainland. Continued...
