clipper's remarks: When i was a child i loved to go fishing & specially i loved to go fishing with my grandpa. But unfortunately we never returned back from fishing while i was riding on huge water turtle.
At this Netsuke the maser carver used some imagination in order to carve this beuutiful Mammoth ivory Netsuke.

Carved Ivory Netsuke - After The Fishing

Look at this amazing Netsuke of Father & his Son just have been returned after the Fishing with they Catch. The Child carry a basket full of Fish & he standing on huge turtle while is father happy from their lucky day & smoking traditional pipe. The Master carver had done really an amazing fine detail work on this tiny sculpture.

This remarkable Netsuke was hand carved by Master Carver, you can see his signature at the bottom of the Netsuke- Look at the video on this page in order to see this inspiring Netsuke all around. Next to the master Carver signature, you will find the two holes.

Facing the table, somebody had positioned a sculpture of a weeping woman -- probably not a coincidence. Mexico's leaders agreed to the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo in 1848 because American troops had reached Mexico City and were ready to ruin the place if Mexico didn't sign. Some of that paperwork was finalized at this table in Querétaro. Under the treaty, in exchange for about $18 million, Mexico gave up 525,000 square miles of territory, including California and Texas. In many ways, that land transfer at gunpoint is the move that made the U.S. the power it is today, leaving many Mexicans with a bitter taste.

Big Farting Bull In Little China

Beijing’s burgeoning art district has a new symbol for its growing influence in the global art world -a giant farting bull.

Created by sculptor Chen Wenling, the 20-foot statue depicts, well, a big fiberglass bull that rams a devil figure with its horns while making whoopie so hard the devil crashes into a wall.

Forget the lyre or flute. "Pan," at least in Adam Reeder's version of the mythological figure, dances to the iPod.

Reeder, who recently graduated with a masters in sculpture from San Francisco's Academy of Art University, is also a big tech enthusiast. He has attempted to wed classical sculpture with modern themes.

"Technology has changed the context but not the nature of humans or art," says Reeder. "Classical sculpture is typically very serious and everyday people come in and they're kind of ready to be bored. Then, they see this and say 'Dude, this is great.' That is because this is going right from me to people who like technology. Instead of art buffs, I want it to be geek to geek. This is our world."

He's seven meters tall and weighs three metric tons. He is WEEE Man! This sculpture stands at the Eden Project in Cornwall, after his debut at the South Bank in London. The British Royal Society of Arts had WEEE Man built out of discarded electronic components and household appliances to symbolize how much of this material each person contributes to environmental waste. A bust of Russia's muscle-flexing strongman Vladimir Putin is being created as a gift for ex-Hollywood bodybuilder and California's current governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The bust is currently being made in Mr Putin's home city of Saint Petersburg on an order of Russia's Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation and will be delivered to the movie star turned politician in March.

In 1991 the Russian artist made a sculpture of Mr Schwarzenegger and Vladimir Dubinin, the president of the bodybuilding federation, personally delivered the gift.

The two Russian men soon learned the Hollywood action hero collected sculptures, Mr Dubinin said.

"Then we brought him the busts of Gorbachev and Yeltsin," said Mr Dubinin, referring to the last Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev and the late Russian president Boris Yeltsin.

A sculpture of Mr Putin, a former president and current Prime Minister, was the next logical step, he added.

"Nothing has changed," Mr Peskov said.

Meet Isis - Hyde Park's first new sculpture for 50 years

Isis, by Simon Gudgeon, represents the Egyptian goddess of motherhood, who could take the form of a bird.

It is Hyde Park's first new sculpture in 50 years.
The 633-kilo bronze sculpture was unveiled today by the artist and Joel Cadbury, president of the Royal Parks Foundation at its home on the south shore of the Serpentine, near the Princess Diana memorial fountain.

The statue will raise money by selling plaques at its base to fund the £1.8 million children's centre, which aims to replace two ageing classrooms with hi-tech facilities for children visiting the park.
