While closing Yucca Mountain made for good campaign politics in Nevada, it leaves the U.S. with nowhere to store a growing stockpile of radioactive waste. Roughly 70,000 tons of waste sits in temporary pools and dry storage canisters in 100 reactor sites around the U.S. -- each one requiring an army of guards and millions in electronic surveillance.

the Obama administration is pulling the plug on Yucca Mountain, the federal government's proposed storage facility for America's nuclear waste.

"They have no solution to the problem. They've taken tens of billions of dollars from rate-payers and now they are talking about scraping the whole thing," said Leslie Paige of Citizens Against Government Waste.

Energy Secretary Stephen Chu told Congress earlier this year that Yucca Mountain is "not an option,"

the Nevada Facility told Fox News that the site is closed.

"I was angry that I hadn't scratched the sticker off," she recalls. She returned that evening and it was still hanging there. She couldn't understand why the many people who had waited at the bus stop that day hadn't bothered to remove it. "So I decided to stop looking the other way," she says.

Visible crawls over half a million web 2.0 sites a day, scraping more than a million posts and conversations taking place on blogs, online forums, Flickr, YouTube, Twitter and Amazon.

Then Visible “scores” each post, labeling it as positive or negative, mixed or neutral. It examines how influential a conversation or an author is.

By the next year, 2014, the tax will hit every family making more than $100,000 (about 18 percent of all families or one in six).

By 2019, 10 years hence, the tax will reach down to affect every family making more than $75,000 a year (31 percent of families or one in three).

The tax will take 40 percent of all premiums above $21,000.

So if you don’t have insurance, you will be socked with a mandate to buy coverage and pay a hefty proportion of your income to do it; and if you have insurance . . .

All during the campaign, Obama kept speaking about affordable coverage. Now it appears that his definition of “affordable” might be a bit elastic.

If your household income is $66,000 a year, slightly above the national average, Obama’s health care bill will require you to spend 12 percent of your income -- about $8,000 a year or almost $700 a month -- to buy health insurance before you get any federal subsidy.

Families scraping by on only $44,0000 a year will have to pay 7 percent of their income (about $3,000) on insurance. Even those making just $33,000 will have to ante up 4.5 percent of their income (about $1,500) for health insurance. The required payments reach so far down the scale that those who are living at the federal poverty level of $22,000 will have to shell out 2 percent of their totally inadequate incomes ($440) for insurance.

1/2		cup sugar
1/2		cup firmly packed brown sugar
1		egg
3		tablespoons orange juice
1		tablespoon grated orange peel
2 1/4		cups all-purpose flour
3/4		teaspoon baking soda
1/2		teaspoon salt
1		cup flaked coconut
1		cup coarsely chopped pecans
1		cup finely shredded carrots

cups powdered sugar 1 tablespoon grated orange peel 2 to 3 tablespoons orange juice

Heat oven to 350°F. Combine butter, sugar and brown sugar in large mixer bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy (1 to 2 minutes). Add egg, 3 tablespoons orange juice and 1 tablespoon orange peel. Continue beating until well mixed (1 to 2 minutes). Reduce speed to low; add flour, baking soda and salt. Beat until well mixed (1 to 2 minutes). Stir in coconut, pecans and carrots by hand.

Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown

Confusing ends and means, the Obama administration strives mightily for shows of allied unity, good feeling, and pious concern about Iran’s nuclear program " whereas the real objective is stopping that program. This feel-good posturing is worse than useless, because all the time spent achieving gestures is precious time granted Iran to finish its race to acquire the bomb.

Ok, so for the last 8 years or so the IAEA is saying that Iran does NOT have a bomb.

Bush starts building a missile shield to "PROTECT US FROM IRAN" who- again... did NOT have a bomb!

SO YESTERDAY Obama says he is scraping the missile shield project.

And NOW... all of the sudden TODAY, the IAEA comes out and says:

"IRAN HAS A BOMB!!"

Also, ALL along the CDC and was saying that swine flu was going to kill us all.

Today they come out and say that NOW, all the sudden... it is NOT going to be that bad!

So yesterday IRAN did NOT have a bomb and the swine flu was going to kill us all....

TODAY... Iran DOES have a bomb and the swine flu is NOT going to be that bad after all.

WOW... as the world turns!!
