Britons in bogus degrees scam

St Regis university sold fake degrees to nearly 10,000 people

Fraudsters based in Spokane, Washington state, sold over $6m (the equivalent to £4m at that time) of bogus qualifications to nearly 10,000 people around the world, including medical degrees and qualifications in nuclear engineering.

The founders of St Regis University were recently sentenced to three years in prison for the fraud.

BBC Radio 5 Live's Donal MacIntyre programme tracked down two of the British people who have a PhD from the fake university.

It looks like someone is trying to profit off of people misspelling the Facebook URL into their browser. The domain URL Facebok.com appears to be set up as some sort of CPA scam. I’m not sure that people that type “Facebok” into their browser were expecting to date cheating wives. The site randomly redirects users to various sites including a teen dating site, a free electronics site and others.

U.K. Environmental Minister scorns "global warming" nonsense

The Environment Minister Sammy Wilson has angered green campaigners by describing their view on climate change as a "hysterical psuedo-religion".

Mr Wilson said he believed it occurred naturally and was not man-made.

"Resources should be used to adapt to the consequences of climate change, rather than King Canute-style vainly trying to stop it," said the minister.

Mr Wilson said he refused to "blindly accept" the need to make significant changes to the economy to stop climate change.

The minister said he accepted climate change can occur, but does not believe the cause has been identified.

"Reasoned debate must replace the scaremongering of the green climate alarmists."

It is the latest clash between Mr Wilson and green groups since his appointment as environment minister in June.

This one is using a real person’s background to promote this scam e-mail. I spoke to his assistant and she told me that his name is being used quite extensively at the moment.

Mr. Gore-Randall is the COO of HBOS, which makes him a public figure. HBOS wants readers and potential clients to see that they are dealing with qualified experts by posting short curiculum vitaes of their management, which is obviously a basis for trust building.

Unfortunately this kind of public information is often misused for the Advance Fee or 419 kind of fraud run by Africans.

Oh hell just when I was thinking of doing a little bit more with Alertpay as well. I've always been a bit skeptical of alertpay since the Bob Krimm - TriStar media days. There was another large autosurf Bob put on his saviour suit and offered to rescue. 13 daily something? I'll edit this with full name of that one once I do a search back.. One thing I've sent other payment gateways heads up of dodgy websites, e-gold and LibertyReserve to name just two/ I've ways get a response back.

With Alertpay nothing, not even an acknowledgment of receiving the url or info.
