Richie Sambora pleads out DUI case in California

Richie Sambora struck a deal with prosecutors Tuesday just hours after they filed drunken driving charges against him, pleading no contest to one misdemeanor count of driving with a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit.

In turn, the district attorney agreed to drop a second charge -- driving under the influence of alcohol -- against the Bon Jovi guitarist, said Farrah Emami, a district attorney spokeswoman.

Sambora was sentenced to three years of informal probation, three months of first-offender alcohol awareness class and court fees. He also cannot have any measurable amount of drugs or alcohol in his system while driving

during his probation.

Two children and a woman were in the car. The children were released to the woman's custody, and none of their names have been made public.

Richie Sambora arrested for suspicion of DUI

Bon Jovi guitarist’s 10-year-old daughter was reportedly in the car with him

LAGUNA BEACH, Calif. - Bon Jovi’s Richie Sambora has been arrested for investigation of driving under the influence of alcohol.

The 48-year-old guitarist was arrested just before 11 p.m. Tuesday after an officer noticed his black Hummer weaving in traffic lanes, said Laguna Beach police Sgt. Jason Kravetz.

Sambora was given field sobriety tests and arrested without incident. He was booked at the Laguna Beach jail and released at 4 a.m., Kravetz said Wednesday.

“He was very cooperative with all the staff,” Kravetz said.

A woman and two girls were passengers in the car, said Kravetz, who declined to release their names. But Celebrity Web site TMZ.com reports that a police source said Sambora’s 10-year-old daughter with ex-wife Heather Locklear, Ava, was in the car with him.

ET has learned that the twosome, who have both been making headlines for their impending divorces from CHARLIE SHEEN and HEATHER LOCKLEAR, respectively, were spotted kissing, snuggling and cuddling everywhere from Los Angeles area beaches to cozy restaurants like the Le Café.

Locklear & Sambora: Over!

ET has confirmed the surprising news that after more than 11 years of marriage, HEATHER LOCKLEAR, 44, and her rocker husband, RICHIE SAMBORA, 46, are calling it quits. In court papers filed today, Locklear cites "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split.

"Heather Locklear has filed for divorce from Richie Sambora," according to her publicist. "This is a private matter and there will be no further comment at this time."
