Rove says he finds Palin's experience as Alaska's governor (since 2007) and as the mayor of Wasilla (population 9,700) impressive.

But a month ago, when Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine was on Barack Obama's vice presidential short list, Rove belittled Kaine as too inexperienced. Kaine, you see, had only been governor for three years. And before that, he was mayor of Richmond, Va., only "the 105th largest city in America."

O'Reilly, alluding to the pregnancy of Palin's 17-year-old daughter, says: "As long as society doesn't have to support the mother, father or baby, it is a personal matter."

But last December, when it was disclosed that Britney Spears' 16-year-old sister was pregnant, he pontificated: "Here, the blame falls primarily on the parents of the girl. They obviously have little control over her." And a graphic behind him labeled the girl's parents as "Pinheads!"

Republicans misleading

It is my belief that the majority of misleading is being done by the republicans.

don't get me wrong, I don't believe republicans are misleading but their attack dogs

I also think that too many republicans are believing the BS that their politicians are saying...this is sad.

This is how Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin described Barack Obama’s win over Hillary Clinton to political colleagues in a restaurant a few days after Obama locked up the Democratic Party presidential nomination.

According to Lucille, the waitress serving her table at the time and who asked that her last name not be used, Gov. Palin was eating lunch with five or six people when the subject of the Democrat’s primary battle came up. The governor, seemingly not caring that people at nearby tables would likely hear her, uttered the slur and then laughed loudly as her meal mates joined in appreciatively.

But being openly racist is only the tip of the Palin iceberg. According to Alaskans interviewed for this article, she is also vindictive and mean. We’re talking Rove mean and Nixon vindictive.

there’s ample evidence of Palin’s vindictive willingness to destroy people she sees as opponents.

He admonished the ‘old, do-nothing crowd’ in Washington, but ignored the fact that he’s been part of that crowd for twenty-six years, opposing solutions on health care, energy, and education. He talked about bipartisanship, but didn’t mention that he’s been a Bush partisan 90% of the time, that he’s run a Karl Rove campaign, and that he wants to continue this President’s disastrous economic and foreign policies for another four years. This is one of the best TDS segments I’ve seen in a long time. These people just make it too easy. Whether it’s Karl Rove decrying Tim Kaine’s lack of experience (while praising the clearly less experienced Sarah Palin), or Dick Morris and Hannity bashing the “sexist” media attacks on Palin (despite peddling real sexist attacks on Hillary themselves), Jon shows that these people have no shame nor ethical consistency.

Note the language used by Eid in dismissing the gravity of the case: the case isn't serious because they were "more aspirational, perhaps, than operational"? Well, when it was the Liberty Seven -- black Muslim men who were described by the FBI as "aspirational rather than operational" -- there was no hesitation by the Justice Department in bringing charges.

Another funny thing: When a black man in prison sent a threatening letter containing baby powder to John McCain, Troy Eid brought down the full force of the law, complete with press conferences and public declarations that "We won't stand for threats of this kind in Colorado."

But when it’s a claque of white men with rifles, disguises, and all the accoutrement of a conspiracy – as well as open admissions to it – Troy Eid isn’t worried. After all, they just a bunch of harmless, tweakers, right? … Just like little Timmy McVeigh.

We noticed last week that it was awfully peculiar that Colorado’s U.S. Attorney, Troy Eid, had so airily dismissed conspiracy charges against the three white-supremacist tweakers who were caught planning to assassinate Barack Obama at last week’s Democratic National Convention in Denver.

Now it turns out that those suspicions were fully warranted:

The plot is similar to that in the 1992 movie "The Bodyguard" starring actors Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston. In the movie, Costner stops an assassination attempt against Houston by spotting a weapon hidden inside a gutted-out TV camera.

Based on the evidence, FBI special agent Robert Sawyer believed there was probable cause to charge the men with conspiracy to kill Senator Obama. However, US Attorney Troy Eid last week said there is insufficient evidence to indicate a true threat, plot or conspiracy against the senator.

Wednesday night on "The Daily Show," Jon Stewart hit Karl Rove and Bill O'Reilly with damning evidence of their hypocrisy regarding Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin.

While Rove recently praised Palin's experience as the mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, Stewart showed video of Rove trashing Virginia Governor — and former Richmond Mayor — Tim Kaine's executive experience, listing all the cities that are bigger than Richmond and calling such a pick "political."

Then, after recent video of O'Reilly describing Bristol Palin's pregnancy as a family issue, Stewart showed a clip of the Fox News host blaming Jamie Lynn Spears' parents for her teenage pregnancy.

Finally, after showing video of Dick Morris complaining about the rampant sexism in the media coverage of Sarah Palin, Stewart unveiled a clip of Morris saying that Hillary hides behind the sexism defense, and that anytime "the big boys" pick on Hillary, "she retreats behind the apron strings."

But even if Mrs. Palin does well, as I believe she will, it is still Mr. McCain's performance in the next 61 days that will matter most. Sarah Palin can help advance the McCain reform narrative, but the hard work still rests squarely on the shoulders of John McCain. And that's exactly where the maverick and war hero wants it.

*Three men conspire to kill Obama.

They get guns, with scopes (one of which may have been stolen).
The rent a vehicle under someone elses name.
They have body armor.
They express a, violent, antipathy to the candidate.

They have travelled to the city the candidate is going to be in.

This is, "not a credible threat and no charges related to that aspect of things are entertained.

*One man, already in jail sends a nastygram to to Mccain's office.

He says there is some lethal powder in the letter, and the person reading it is dead.
He admits McCain might not be reading it.

He has no actual poisons.

This something we won't tolerate.

So, here you have it.

Death threats, from those incapable of carrying them out against the Republican candidate = charges

Death plots, with overt acts, weapons and actual plans... not credible; not worthy of charges.

Barack Obama is condemning campaign rumors involving the children of candidates, including Republican vice presidential contender Sarah Palin. He says he will fire any campaign worker that violates his rule.

Obama, speaking Monday to reporters in Michigan, said he thinks "people's families are off limits, and people's children are especially off limits."
