You can't always get what you want, the Rolling Stones counseled. But if you try sometimes, you get what you need. Factor billions of dollars, questionable loyalties and a privatization rap sheet invested more in profit than people into the equation, and you usually can get both what you want and what you need. In the case of hyper-loaded oil tycoon T. Boone Pickens, that means having your cake on climate crisis, fossil fuel addiction, eminent domain, water privatization and corporate earnings -- and eating it too.

clipper's remarks: Germany may have earned all the gold medals in eventing, but Gina Miles brought the individual silver home to the United States, knocking German Ingrid Klimke and Australian Megan Jones off the leaderboard with her two perfect show jumping rounds.

Hinrich Romeike won individual gold and led the Germans to team gold, and Tina Cook of Great Britain earned team and individual bronze medals. Australia brought home silver in the team competition.

Charlie Sheen has slept with a lot of women, enough for let's say, "Two and a Half Men."

The sitcom star lands on Maxim magazine's Top 10 "Living Sex Legends" list having allegedly done the deed with 5,000 women.

Surprisingly, the top lothario isn't anyone rich or famous (until now) at all. The men's magazine claims that lowly Venetian hotel porter Umberto Billo has charmed 8,000 women to his bed. "They crossed oceans to see me," he boasts.

1. Free Rolling Stones Concert at Altamont Speedway, 1969

Some heralded the event as being “Woodstock West,” with roughly 300,000 people in attendance.

The Rolling Stones hired motorcycle gang Hells Angels to provide security at the event. They traded the Angels $500 worth of beer in return for controlling the crowd.

2. The Who in Cincinnati, 1979

It was December 3rd, 1979, and 18,500 fans had gathered outside the Coliseum in Cincinnati.

The energetic scene quickly turned chaotic as the large crowd surged toward the doors, trampling upon and crushing 11 people to death.

3. Pearl Jam at the Roskilde Festival, Denmark, 2000

Roskilde Festival in Denmark is Europe’s largest outdoor concert. In the year 2000, it drew a crowd of about 100,000.

LONDON (Reuters) - From Saturday, Mick Jagger will be entitled to a basic state pension of just under 91 pounds ($180) a week.

But he will have to wait another five years for free roof insulation -- that benefit is only available to Britons aged over 70.

The lead singer of British rock band The Rolling Stones turns 65 on Saturday, making him an old age pensioner, albeit in name only.

Jagger continues to turn back the clock with age-defying live performances, recently impressing cinema audiences with his energetic strutting and pouting captured by director Martin Scorsese in 2008 rock documentary "Shine a Light."

Although his off-stage antics no longer match the rock'n'roll excess of fellow Stone Ronnie Wood, recently admitted to rehab for a drinking problem, Jagger is clearly not about to rest on his laurels and tend to the garden.

Barack Obama showcased his musical taste In a cover-featured interview with Rolling Stone magazine, to be published this Friday, ranging from Bob Dylan to Jay-Z and Bruce Springsteen, after revealing the playlist on his iPod.

Obama said he had "pretty eclectic tastes," ranging from the Rolling Stones, with Gimme Shelter his favorite, to Bob Dylan, Sheryl Crow and Ludacris. Dylan leads the playlist with 30 songs, with Maggie's Farm an alltime political favorite.

Dylan recently said he believed Obama was redefining politics in the US and could bring much needed change.

Obama said that, growing up, he listened to Elton John and Earth, Wind & Fire but that Stevie Wonder was his ultimate musical hero during the 70s. Jazz legends Miles Davis, John Coltrane and Charlie Parker were also included in the compilation.

"I've got to say, having both Dylan and Bruce Springsteen say kind words about you is pretty remarkable," Obama said. "Those guys are icons."
