While 25 percent said they were more likely to vote for McCain because he picked Palin, 19 percent said they were less likely to support his candidacy. A majority, 55 percent, said the choice won't affect their vote.

By contrast, 22 percent of voters said Biden's selection for the Democratic ticket made them more likely to vote for Obama, while just 10 percent said they were less likely to support the Illinois senator's presidential candidacy. Again, a majority -- 67 percent -- said the choice won't matter in their vote.
More evidence that Palin was a base shoring choice. She's not winning converts, just energizing those already on the right.

Clip Source: www.bloomberg.com

Half of U.S. voters said first-term

The podcast of the show will eventually be here. They usually post it around 4 p.m. Pacific. Roger Fisher, guitarist for Heart is now calling in (he also co-wrote the song). He's an avid Obama supporter, but also thinks it's great the song was being played at the RNC. He's just realized that he's about to be ambushed from the weeds by the Barracuda, and forced to his knees. Not long ago, he and "the porpoise" (Joe Biden, pre-hair plugs) were just "Selling a song," with "no right, no wrong" — just playing "a whisper game" involving a "name." This is clearly a reference to the "McSame" meme on which they were relying so much. And "sell me, sell you," the porpoise and the singer croon to each other in close harmony. Oh, yeah: It's about Obama and Biden, all right.

Clip Source: www.beldar.org

As I type this, the sound system from the GOP convention floor is cranked up all the way, playing Heart's galloping mega-hit from 1977 (my college graduation year, yay!) — "Barracuda."

And to think just how many times I've listened to this song over the last thirty years without realizing how profound it would become! Mockery of those already on the margins can shore up the very barriers that limit their life chances.

Tags: morons

<clipSource>http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2008/sep/03/art.religion?gusrc=rss&feed=artanddesign</clipSource>

to the right of even the Bush administration

clipped by: lifecyce1898
clipper's remarks: welcome to change and reform GOP style

Clip Source: www.defendersactionfund.org

"Sarah Palin's anti-conservation position is so extreme that she condones shooting wolves and bears from airplanes or using airplanes to chase them to exhaustion and then shoot them point blank. Answer: Good Question. There is a lot of talk about automating management of mobile workers, mobile workers' work and mobile workers' assets in the field. Whew - that's a lot of management. How about we just refer to it as linking mobile applications? We get all the information that needs to get into the business apps from the field where it needs to go.

So there it is - MRM helps fleet operators and field service companies save money and increasing productivity and customer service. We use the combination of equipment and wireless technology that will be right for the situation, GPS, RFID, bar-code, hosted or licensed software applications.
