While Barack Obama was in the Illinois legislature, on three separate occasions he worked hard to prevent a bill to come into law that would extend medical attention to infants already born as survivors of abortion attempt. The reality is that abortionists had begun causing premature births to terminate pregnancies.

There are several reasons, not the least of which is th efetal tissue industry which pays top dollar for pristine baby parts, the sort of parts resulting from allowing a whole alive premature infant to die unattended after being purposely delivered prematurely.

It is also less dangerous to the female from whose body the baby is delivered because no sharp instruments are used to stab into the alive partially born baby’s skull to suck out their brains. And no extremely concentrated salt solution is put into the female’s body to kill the alive unborn child. And no dismemberment is done to the alive unborn child in order to remove them piece by piece

It really says lots for our society when McCain says "this isn't about issues its about personalities"! Seems they have taken to the fact that Americans are just plain ignorant to whats going on with our Govt, and would rather watch reality shows like American Idol and the like -- as to where politics are now modeling itself after them and you know what - its working!! More Americans then ever are paying attention to this election because of Obama and Palin and all the crap thats being thrown around..
By the way, Weren't they harping on Obama's so called 'Celebrity' status -- so why now that Palin has it its okay??!! By the way, I'm really curious to see how the 'Hillary women' vote -- is it about gender or race or issues... Palin is against abortion even if its a result of rape etc.. She's as conservative as you can get.. this should be interesting....

The Truth is 140 Characters

So what is the truth?

This is why I believe Social Media is taking off at rates unseen by any other form of media: it’s the people you know, fictionalized.

These are people, stories, who are only as interesting as what they represent that you find interesting about yourself. A more vibrant reverberation of the boring everyday everyone.

I cringe as I write this because I hold my social networks dearly, and feel as though I participate in them honestly. As much as I enjoy social networking, I also understand that it is not reality. It is only I choose to like best about reality. And people will be creating for social media just like people today write and direct and design sets for movies.

The truth is 140 characters. Everything else is our own private Idaho.

Indeed, even General Petraeus admits the possibility that, due to these entirely local developments, violence in Iraq might have fallen just as much even without the Surge.

When you've been working with bullshit for as long as I have, you start to spot recurring themes: quacks and the pharmaceutical industry use the exact same tricks to sell their pills, everybody loves a "science bit" - even if it's wrong - and when people introduce pseudoscience into any explanation, it's usually because there's something else they're trying desperately not to talk about. But my favourite is this: alternative therapists, the media, and the drug industry all conspire to sell us reductionist, bio-medical explanations for problems that might more sensibly and constructively be thought of as social, political, or personal. And this medicalisation of everyday life isn't done to us; in fact, we eat it up.

While there were rumors of an A-list attendance including Brad Pitt, Daniel Craig, Mariah Carey and Tom Brady at Duckie Brown this afternoon, the reality was closer to that of an offsite show (and not of the Marc Jacobs variety).

Despite the empty promises though, there was no fault to be placed on Duckie Brown, who produced an absolutely stellar collection, different from everything else we’ve seen in menswear this season.

With a palette of almost exclusively black, the collection had a feel that went beyond modern as to be propelled into an entirely new category of innovation and newness. There was a contrast between the stretch body suits that were part of every look and the often boxy, geometrical construction of the outer-garments.

There was often a hybrid combination of athletic wear like nylon hoods peeking out of a jacket that contributed a post-modern utilitarian effect that transcended current trends to create an entirely new genre of its own.

Sarah Palin has a pregnant teenager. And, she’s not alone. According to a report published in 2007, there are more than 400,000 other American girls in the same predicament.

If there is a shame here, it’s a national shame — a failure of our puritanical society to accept and deal with the facts. Teenagers have sex. How often and how safely depends on how much knowledge and support they have. Crossing our fingers that they won’t cross the line is not an intelligent strategy.

To wit, our ridiculous experiment in abstinence-only education seems to be winding down with a study finding that it didn’t work. States are opting out of it. Parents don’t like it either.

We need to take some bold steps beyond the borders of our moralizing and discomfort and create a sex education infrastructure that actually acknowledges reality and protects our children from unwanted pregnancies, or worse.

The reality is that MLB's owners and managers all knew about juicing. They turned a blind eye to the problem because they only cared about home runs, crowded stadiums, and winning games. So why punish Bonds? If MLB needs to cleanse itself from the era of juicing, then let it get rid of all those managers and owners who looked the other way when the juicing was going on. Fire the team physicians who ignored obvious signs of steroids and human growth hormones. But if we did that, who would be left? Not many owners, and maybe not many managers and coaches? So, if MLB is not going to really clean its house, it should stop using Bonds as a scapegoat. Let him play. He wants to play. Let's see if he still can. It would be great is some team has the guts to sign Bonds this season and let him back on the field. It may be his last season. Next year he might be playing on the Leavenworth team, with prison stripes instead of pinstriped. Or he may walk out of court an innocent man, and play again.

McCain claims that he was tortured while in custody. There were no other American witnesses to this torture and some former POWs doubt that it happened at all. In fact, McCain himself admitted in a 1973 interview with the magazine US News and World Report that he volunteered to give military information in return for medical treatment, even before being subjected to any torture.

Bear in mind that McCain’s medals were awarded for resisting torture. Yet where was the resistance? Perhaps it is this gulf between the perception and the reality of John McCain that explains why so many Vietnam veterans’ groups openly despise him.

However much pity we might feel for a prisoner of war subjected to such intense pressures, the record is clear : McCain was no war hero. He was, rather, a coward, an incompetent, a collaborator and a traitor.
