Brad Pitt visited the Laguna Seca MotoGP this year, as the Hollywood star has always been open about his motorcycling interests. At the Yamaha pit stop on Valentino Rossi, Brad Pitt praised the rider, saying: “We’re public personalities, we shouldn’t have idols to venerate. But I have one that’s bigger than all the rest: Valentino Rossi. I would give anything to be like him. That guy is a real magician. He would be capable of hypnotising me. It doesn’t seem possible, because he looks like he weighs only 30 kilos, but he has a speed and balance.

He can lie on the track, next to the bike, but without falling. It’s a dance, it’s pure art. Rossi has won the eighth title without bragging. He remains calm, filled with a sense of internal balance that doesn’t seem human, he escapes mortality. For me, watching him in action, is like reading poetry.”

Spies don't put info on the Internet and sell imagery. We're an Earth-imaging satellite, and we can sell our imagery to customers around the world who have a need to map and measure and monitor things on the ground. We're commercializing a technology that was once only in the hands of the governments. Just like the internet, just like GPS, just like telecom – all invented by the government. Since its launch, on September 6^th this year, Google's top-notch satellite has constantly been fine-tuned in order to get even more accurate results. The ultra-high definition images that it is able to provide make GeoEye-1 the world's best commercial satellite.

The state-of-the-art device's first public attempt consisted of a top-down accurate view of Pennsylvania's Kutztown University

Google's next satellite, GeoEye-2, will be able to provide 25-centimeter resolution images, but Google will still be restricted to their 50-centimeter limitations. The launch of GeoEye-2 is set for sometime in 2011 or 2012.

I have the previous version of this bike, and it is terrific. As a single speed bike, it’s relatively slow, but it folds so quickly that combined with a good public transit system you can have an amazingly quick commute. You also get a ton of comments and questions from people on the street, even without the extremely tight pants featured above.

Front brakes are responsible for most of the major stopping power. Given the choice I’d go for that one, but the front and the back are required in different proportions under varying conditions. The learning of how much pressure to apply to each at any given time is an art, Just when you think you have it down, you learn that you don’t. Riding is an ongoing education, but a rewarding one.

I like the bike.

Is The Original Spyware Company Finally Dead?

As the whole spyware (the companies in the space preferred the adware label) got a bad name, Gator first threatened to sue anyone who called its product spyware, and then eventually decided to shed the baggage of the Gator name and renamed itself Claria. -- insisting that it was now a legitimate advertising firm. Except, the charges of spyware kept flying in Claria's direction. The company tried and failed to go public, and then, once again, insisted that it was getting out of the adware business and moving into "behavioral advertising" -- which, most people realized was just another term for what it had been doing in the past.

I should know. I've debated Governor Palin more than two dozen times. And she's a master, not of facts, figures, or insightful policy recommendations, but at the fine art of the nonanswer, the glittering generality. Against such charms there is little Senator Biden, or anyone, can do.

Palin is a master of the nonanswer. She can turn a 60-second response to a query about her specific solutions to healthcare challenges into a folksy story about how she's met people on the campaign trail who face healthcare challenges. All without uttering a word about her public-policy solutions to healthcare challenges.

Doing nothing can be a waste of time, or it can be an art form. Here’s how to become a master, and in the process, improve your life, melt away the stress and make yourself more productive when you actually do work.

Start small
Doing nothing, in the true sense of the word, can be overwhelming if you attempt to do too much nothing at once. Do small nothings at first. Focus on 5-10 minutes at a time, and start your practice sessions in a safe place — at home, not at work or in a busy public place. You may also not be ready to do nothing in the middle of nature, so do it in your bedroom or living room. Find a time and place where there are not many distractions, not much noise, not a lot of people to bother you.

Congress is filled with petty, polarizing, prevaricating, putrid little pukes. They need to grow up and learn the art of compromise. The Republicans whine about Pelosi and about Wall Street giveaways in the most disingenuous display of election year lying we have seen. The Democrats, in the midst of a national crisis requiring compromise, lambaste the Republicans in public in a gratuitous and obviously calculated and counterproductive speech by the Speaker. Grow up. I want a list of everybody who voted against the bill yesterday so I know who cost the American public 1 trillion dollars. I want to hear from these “principled” geniuses why they thought it better to throw away $1 trillion in one day than loan $700 billion over time? Kick the bums out. A plague on both their houses.

Market Street Fine Arts Show to Feature Local Artists

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Market Street will showcase a fantastic display of art during its annual Fall Fine Arts Festival on Saturday, October 4, from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.

This year’s festival will focus on the artistic works of 50 hometown artists and will be held in front of Johnny Rockets near the Bella Rinova Spa and Salon. When I met designer Zeynep Fadillioglu, she was giving instructions to her team of architects on the installation of a cutting-edge water feature.

The metal sphere created by British designer William Pye will dominate the entrance of the Sakirin Mosque.

"Designing everything we tried to be contemporary, but not, let's say, too futuristic or avant garde," Ms Fadillioglu says.

"We don't want the public to reject the place. We want the public to feel part of the place, rather than watching it as an incredible art object. I think it should be their own place."

What is tagging?

Tagging is not an art form or about expressing oneself. It is vandalism and the destruction of private and public property. Tagging is any unauthorized marking, etching, scratching, drawing, painting or defacing of any surface of public, private, real or personal property.

Tagging causes blight in our community resulting in a genuine threat to the quality of life, incalculable economic losses to businesses, and can lead to the general deterioration of the area in which you live or work. The eradication of graffiti is a huge drain on the City’s resources in both cost and manpower. In most cases, the difference between graffiti being art or a crime is PERMISSION!

Pedestrian Street Art by Peter Gibson

Peter Gibson (aka Roadsworth) began painting the streets of Montreal in the fall of 2001. He was motivated by a desire for more bike paths in the city and a questioning of “car culture” in general.

In the fall of 2004, Roadsworth was arrested for his nocturnal activities and charged with 53 counts of mischief. Despite the threat of heavy fines and a criminal record he received a relatively lenient sentence which he attributes in part to the public support he received subsequent to his arrest.

Since that time, Roadsworth has received various commissions for his work and continues to be active in both visual art and music.
