Prescription shampoos containing either a corticosteroid or an antifungal medication are effective for seborrheic dermatitis that has not responded to OTC shampoos. The primary prescription therapy for the treatment of scalp seborrheic dermatitis are the anti-fungal shampoos containing either ketoconazole 2% (Nizoral) or the newer ciclopriox (Loprox). These shampoos focus on the fungus that may cause seborrheic dermatitis. Loprox Shampoo works well in women with brown skin because of its gentle fragrance and dye free formulation that omits harsh ingredients.

<clipSource>http://www.brownskin.net/seborrheic.html</clipSource>

Palin to Play Softball with ABC

clipped by: Wisco
clipper's remarks: That'd be the same Charlie Gibson who once asked Dubya, "You took a lot of doubting and rather skeptical questions about the surge.

No other interviews are scheduled. It will be the first TV interview for Palin since she was named 10 days ago as running mate to John McCain.

The McCain campaign kept her off Sunday shows this weekend and plans to be sparing with high-risk network encounters, which they contend are unimportant to voters despite the media’s fixation on them.

But McCain officials could see her reticence was feeding the narrative of her being unprepared for the job.

Tags: news

<clipSource>http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0908/13227.html</clipSource>

Great science books for little kids, from HarperChildrens

clipped by: enbar
clipper's remarks: This is an excellent series. Short, easy-to-read, beautifully illustrated books on simple science topics -- like bugs, seeds, storms, seasons, sleep, and teeth -- written in engaging language that children can both understand AND learn real scientific facts from. Two levels of difficulty: stage 1 is for pre-K to K-age children; stage 2 is for kids in primary grades.

Clip Source: www.harperchildrens.com

The results of that study, reported in an Aug. 18, 1974, Washington Post newspaper feature, were that marijuana’s primary psychoactive component, THC, “slowed the growth of lung cancers, breast cancers and a virus-induced leukemia in laboratory mice, and prolonged their lives by as much as 36 percent.”

Fortunately, in the past 10 years scientists overseas have generously picked up where U.S. researchers so abruptly left off, reporting that cannabinoids can halt the spread of numerous cancer cells — including prostate cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer, pancreatic cancer, and brain cancer.

rather than publicize their findings, the U.S. government shelved the results,

Tags: cannabis, cancer

<clipSource>http://www.nwotruth.com/what-your-government-knows-about-cannabis-and-cancer-%e2%80%94-and-isn%e2%80%99t-telling-you/</clipSource>

My Top Ten Favorite 80s Teen Movies

clipped by: ninja1105

Clip Source: www.dominickevans.com

I was born in 1980. That means I remember from about 1983-1984 onward. This also means that I was impressionable in relation to the music, movies and to a lesser extent, the television series of the decade. That being said, I’m a HUGE fan of anything 80s.

I believe that the 80s were unique. Movies were made to entertain and tell a story. Music was meant to make you dance and perhaps even shock you (Madonna, anyone?) and entertainment wasn’t nearly as censored as it is today. It was a great time for those of us who grew up in the 80s. Not only did we have the best cartoons, we had the best teen movies…ever.

So, sit back, relax, and take a walk down memory lane as we look at my top ten, favorite, 80s movies of all time.

Honorable Mention: Stand by Me

While technically not a teen movie (otherwise, it’d have made our primary list), though close enough, this Stephen King flick made Wil Wheaton nearly every kid’s hero!

Tags: 80s movies, top ten, breakfast club, john hughes, teen, movies, the goonies, the lost boys, war games, porky’s

<clipSource>http://www.dominickevans.com/2008/09/my-top-ten-favorite-80s-teen-movies/</clipSource>

Rob Kall's Op Ed News--Damn good info

clipped by: papananook
clipper's remarks: See site for this and other good progressive stuff:
By Rob Kall
McCain's Offshore Drilling Approach Is Bad For America; We Need A Better, Smarter Approach
Offshore drilling is a ruse to get votes-- a ruse that sells out America by leading us down the wrong path. The old saying says that only a crazy person keeps digging to get out of a hole. Well, continuing to drill for oil, as the primary solution to our energy problem is that kind of crazy. Excessive, unnecessary energy use, as we have become accustomed to, is a dangerous threat to our national security.

Clip Source: www.opednews.com

Today, my article is one of many I expect to do on how McCain does NOT put America first.

The GOP and republican party are running away from their names and their new branding is AMERICA FIRST, NATION FIRST. Though by law the ballot measure couldn't name a specific project, everyone knew it was aimed at the proposed Pebble Mine, which if developed as planned would be North America's largest open pit gold mine, also mining copper and molybdenum (a crucial element in steel).

Clip Source: www.alternet.org

After spending their life of several years in the sea, the fish make their way up streams to the places where they were born. They don't eat, all their energy focused on their single-minded goal of spawning, after which they will die. Their flesh turns red from the effort, and hormones cause the males to develop a hump and a sinister-looking, toothy hooked beak.

The salmon life cycle is also part of the cycle of life for thousands of Alaska natives and Alaskans in general. Bristol Bay is known as the world's largest wild salmon fishery. With more than 30 million salmon worth hundreds of millions of dollars caught per year, it is a bedrock of commercial fishing and Alaska natives' subsistence fishing as well as a popular sport-fishing destination.

<clipSource>http://www.alternet.org/water/96843/</clipSource>

Palin is "Racist, Sexist, Vindictive , and Mean"

clipped by: spirithiker
clipper's remarks: No wonder the vast sea of white, cheering faces at the Republican Convention went wild for Sarah: They adore the type, it’s in their genetic code. Connectivism and Connective Knowledge is a twelve week course that will explore the concepts of connectivism and connective knowledge and explore their application as a framework for theories of teaching and learning. It will outline a connectivist understanding of educational systems of the future.
This course will help participants make sense of the transformative impact of technology in teaching and learning over the last decade. The voices calling for reform do so from many perspectives, with some suggesting 'new learners' require different learning models, others suggesting reform is needed due to globalization and increased competition, and still others suggesting technology is the salvation for the shortfalls evident in the system today. While each of these views tell us about the need for change, they overlook the primary reasons why change is required.

SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) is a component of Microsoft SQL Server 2005. It replaces Data Transformation Services, which has been a feature of SQL Server since Version 7.0. Unlike DTS, which was included in all versions, SSIS is available in the "Standard", "Developer" and "Enterprise" editions.

Integration Services provides a platform to build data integration and workflow applications. The primary use for SSIS is data warehousing, as the product features a fast and flexible tool for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL). The tool may also be used to automate maintenance of SQL Server databases, update multidimensional cube data, and perform other functions.

<clipSource>http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=SQL_Server_Integration_Services&oldid=228833205</clipSource>
