Orrin G. Hatch (R-Utah) with the support of Democratic Sens. John F. Kerry and the late Edward M. Kennedy, both of Massachusetts, home to the headquarters of the Church of Christ, Scientist.

The measure would put Christian Science prayer treatments -- which substitute for or supplement medical treatments -- on the same footing as clinical medicine. While not mentioning the church by name, it would prohibit discrimination against "religious and spiritual healthcare."

But critics say the measure could have a broader effect, conferring new status and medical legitimacy on practices that lie outside the realm of science.

Tags: religion, healthcare, legal, government

<clipSource>http://www.latimes.com/features/health/la-na-health-religion3-2009nov03,0,2239900.story?page=1</clipSource>

Chocolate for Pregnancy

clipped by: cadengavin
clipper's remarks: Here is more wonderful news about the benefits of dark chocolate! US army officer Major Nidal Malik Hasan was captured on CCTV in the hours
before the killing, wearing what appear to be traditional Muslim robes and a
 prayer cap.

Hasan has been identified as responsible for the killing of 13 people and
wounding of 30 more in the mass shooting at the Fort
 Hood base.

Before the killings, the military psychiatrist was caught
on camera shopping at a convenience store at the base, in CCTV footage
 unearthed by US broadcaster CNN.

After it was filmed, Hasan, armed with two handguns, walked into a training
centre and opened fire on fellow soldiers who were having last-minute
medical check-ups before being deployed to Afghanistan. Thirteen were killed
 and 30 injured.

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for all the wonderful things You created in this world for us to enjoy. Lord, I know when You restrict anything from us, it is for our good, and because You love us. Help me not to yield to the temptation to go beyond the boundaries that You have set for mankind in Your Word. Deliver me from all lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh and the pride of this life. May I set my eyes on eternal things and hold loosely the things of this world and use them for Your glory. I ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

The secret: PRAY HARD!

Clip Source: instantdevotion.com

Prayer Changes Everything

Here’s what’s interesting about this story. Isaiah is a prophet, and what he says came from God and it should come to pass. Suppose to be, there is nothing that can stop it from happening. However, the twist of this story starts when Hezekiah wept bitterly and prayed to God for his recovery.

Amazingly, verse 5 says, “I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will add fifteen years to your life.”

It is very clear that God added fifteen more years to his life not because of what he did nor how faithful he is. God heard his prayers and saw his tears and it changes everything.

Imagine GOD extending a persons life 15 more years just because he prayed and wept.

Bible Devotion Conclusion:

Are you heavily burdened and struggling?

Always remember prayer changes everything. There is nothing too hard for God to solve. prayer of the sikhs, composed by Guru Nanak Dev Ji, being the first composition
of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. It consists of the mool mantra followed by 38
stanzas of bani and then a slok . But why is recitation of Jap Ji, with full
understanding of each and every word of it, so important? It is because Jap Ji
can act as a spiritual guide for every human being by answering many of the
fundamental questions that crop up in the mind of any humble seeker. It
possesses the potential to act as a light which can initiate any person on a
spiritual journey by clearing various doubts about the real nature of God, his
attributes, how the world came into existence, with whose command it
functions, the various stages of spiritual progress

Tags: jap ji sahib the fundamental sikh prayer, japji sahib, japji sahib translation

<clipSource>http://www.jsks.co.in/japji.htm</clipSource>
