Tehran: A married woman last week accused some members of Iranian military police of participation in a group raping of her on November 4, 2009. Iran's Parliament today is said to secretly investigate these claims. A Human Rights Watch report last week also documented at least 3 cases of rape against political dissidents in Iranian prisons.

In the past, Iran's Parliament has been reluctant or unable to investigate criminal or financial matters related to the increasingly powerful Military Police and Revolutionary Guard Corp (RGC).

It's time to surrender in Afghanistan. Yep, that's right. Surrender.

Let's sign a document of surrender, apologize for our "aggression," withdraw the troops, and let Osama and the Taliban have a ticker-tape parade in the streets of Kabul before they force women back into their burkas, outlaw education for girls, and start executing homosexuals and Christians again.

The assassination of thirteen American troops at Ft. Hood by a Muslim officer in the U.S. Army is the last straw. Despite the overwhelming evidence, our political and military leaders refuse to acknowledge that Maj. Hasan was motivated by militant Islamist ideology.

And Gen. George Casey -- unbelievably -- actually said that if "diversity" in the military were to suffer, it would be an even greater tragedy than the Ft. Hood murders.

The enemy has not defeated us in battle. They can't. But the Ft. Hood assassinations show that we've already surrendered.

The District of Columbia City Council has changed a proposed ordinance legalizing same-gender "marriage" to supposedly add protection for pastors. The ordinance was supported by a coalition of area clergy.

"Well, this is just a cheap political stunt," he responds. "These are a group of leftist secularists essentially dressed up in the garb of clergy....[W]hat do you do call clergy who abandon the fundamental tenets of their faith and adopt instead the lies of the world? I call them counterfeit clergy."

Barber adds that "they want to have their religion cake and eat it too." He explains.

"They are going to push a leftist political agenda that runs completely counter to biblical principles," he asserts. "The ridiculous and oxymoronic notion of same-sex marriage flies in the face of every major world religion."

EU citizens' initiative raises political and legal headaches

EUOBSERVER / BRUSSELS - Hailed as the EU's first real step towards direct democracy, a right contained in the new Lisbon Treaty allowing EU citizens to ask the European Commission to initiate a law is shaping up to be a political and legal minefield.

The wording of the 'citizens initiative' article requires one million signatures from EU citizens for the commission to consider a legislative proposal, but its implementation throws up practical problems.

The commission proposes giving itself wiggle room for repeated petitions on issues it does not want to follow up, noting that "disincentives or time limits" could prevent "successive presentations of the same request."

EU communications commissioner Margot Wallstrom has in the past predicted the tool will be "used immediately" by citizens, noting that it will be "the better if it causes some problems for the commission" as it will bring the institution more into contact with ordinary people and what they are looking for from the EU.

Perhaps the Constitution is a suicide pact after all.

Investigators would have been "crucified" over First Amendment rights if they had launched a full-scale probe into e-mails Fort Hood massacre suspect Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan allegedly sent to a radical imam, a government investigator told Fox News.

"Had we launched an investigation of Hasan we'd have been crucified," the investigator said, adding that the communications were shared with the "appropriate chains."

Of course they are right. "Better dead than to offend" after all is practically the motto of the terrorist apologizes on the left and within the government.

Rest assured however there are still some restrictions in place. I mean, imagine if Nadal were Smith and he were email buddies with the leader of the Aryan Nation or the KKK. How fast would our mythical Maj. (or Pvt.) Smith last in the Army?

Their first amendment rights wouldn't even be consider (and rightly so).

Since the Ft Hood atrocity, I've seen a meme going around that it somehow exposed a contradiction between "political correctness" and "security." The avoidance of Nidal Hassan's religion out of fear of offending anyone, goes the argument, created the conditions which allowed him to go undetected and unsanctioned in the months and years leading up to his rampage. American security, therefore, demands dropping the "political correctness" of avoiding a confrontation with Islamist ideas and asking the "tough questions" about Islam as a religion and the loyalty of Muslim-Americans.

This framing of the issue is almost 100% wrong.

An expert on Islamic terrorism believes federal officials bowed to political correctness in their dealings with the Army major who is accused of killing 13 people at Fort Hood last week.

The FBI is looking into whether it mishandled early information about Major Nidal Malik Hasan. Nearly a year ago, terrorism investigators conducted an assessment of the Army psychiatrist. At that time, the agency decided that Hasan did not pose a threat.

"It is a sad day when our military, including our FBI [and] our CIA, our military that is supposed to protect us and protect each other...have [come] to such a state where they are willing to close their eyes and indirectly betray each other to the point that blood of our sons and daughters [is] shed...because of political correctness and because of the level of intimidation that is now going through our military," Gabriel contends. "And I think enough is enough, and this is a wake-up call for America."

Some senior citizens are dropping their membership with the AARP following the group's decision to endorse a new government health insurance program.

Last week the American Medical Association and the AARP both endorsed the Democrats' House healthcare bill. AARP executive vice president Nancy LeaMond says the bill "meets our priorities for protecting Medicare, providing more affordable insurance for 50 to 64-year-olds, and reforming our healthcare system."

"The AARP has received over $2 billion in grants from the federal government over the past 15 or 20 years, and most people don't know that," Barton reports. "With having such a huge liberal agenda, it is really a travesty for them to get that sort of money. The Senate Finance Committee [has] passed this bill...[it refers to] a co-op, and this co-op is the AARP -- and they will be making money on the government-run option. They're going to handle it."

The Cloward/Piven Strategy is named after Columbia University sociologists Richard Andrew Cloward and Frances Fox Piven. Using borrowed money for a band-aid bailout of the economy should seem backwards to most people. However, it likely is a planned strategy to promote radical change. Those naively believing that President Obama is simply rewarding his far-left base, and will then move to the political center, must wise up.

The assumption that Obama will need the nation to prosper in order to protect the 2010 mid-term election incorrectly assumes that he esteems free market capitalism. He does not. Rather than win through superior ideas and policies, the Democrat plan for success in the mid-term elections is to win by destroying political opposition.

A coming-on-middle-aged street vendor projects her madness and history of abuse onto (mostly) unsuspecting, sleazy men — and cooks up a storm. Surprisingly good reviews greeted this gory Thai drama, which is right up there with Hong Kong’s The Untold Story (八仙飯店之人肉叉燒包) as a boundary-pushing, gag-inducing Asian incarnation of Sweeney Todd; it’s also a perfectly timed essay for people who think US beef is the sign of the Devil. Abstruse political subtexts (it’s set during student riots in the 1970s) and class and gender commentary ... or blood, guts and torture for their own sake? Take your pick. Taiwan’s censors have let this one through without cuts, though it isn’t clear if this is the version originally banned in Thailand. Either way, here’s the question: Why doesn’t Taiwan make movies like this?
