I am convinced this empty suit is a muslim, and is in all likelihood an al Qaeda sleeper cell.

This is most certainly a Freudian slip. It slipped out subconsciously, "My Muslim Faith", which he then corrected.

Has anybody seen an aerial view of his home in New Hyde Park, Chicago? Directly right across the street from a huge mosqe.

Clip Source: washingtontimes.com

"Let's not play games," he said. "What I was suggesting -- you're absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith. And you're absolutely right that that has not come."

Mr. Stephanopoulos interrupted with, "Christian faith."

"My Christian faith," Mr. Obama said quickly. "Well, what I'm saying is that he hasn't suggested that I'm a Muslim. And I think that his campaign's upper echelons have not, either. What I think is fair to say is that, coming out of the Republican camp, there have been efforts to suggest that perhaps I'm not who I say I am when it comes to my faith -- something which I find deeply offensive, and that has been going on for a pretty long time."

So what did Mayor Palin spend the taxpayer’s money on, if not fixing streets and scrubbing sewage?

For starters, she remodelled her office. Next, Sarah doled out more than $15 million of taxpayer money for a sports complex that she shoved through even though the city did not own clear title to the land; now, seven years later, the matter is still in litigation and lawyer fees are said to be close to at least half of the original estimated price of the facility.

<clipSource>http://www.laprogressive.com/2008/09/05/alaskans-speak-in-a-frightened-whisper-palin-is-%e2%80%9cracist-sexist-vindictive-and-mean%e2%80%9d/</clipSource>

Innocence project Fla. for uncle buds case

clipped by: sugarfoot22

Clip Source: www.innocenceproject.org

Innocence Project of Florida
1100 E. After 93 years, he is blind in one eye and nearly blind in the other. His voice, except for brief bursts of animation -- when he's imitating a mud lark, for instance -- sounds like a handful of gravel.

"But the way I see it, you've got two choices," he said the other day. "You can sit at home and weep for yourself. Or you can get out and do the best you can."

And so, every evening, at his home just above Los Feliz Boulevard, Shankman sets his alarm clock for 5 a.m. Every morning, his eyes open five minutes before the alarm, and he sets off into the hills.

He has been walking for more than three decades, pretty much every day -- 42,000 miles, by his reckoning, the vast majority of it in Griffith Park.

"I'm like the elevator operator in an old building," he said. "Everybody knows him. Then he retires. Nobody knows the new guy. Then they get rid of the elevator operator altogether. Next thing you know, nobody remembers there was an elevator operator to begin with. I've just been here for so many years. I'm not special."

<clipSource>http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-outthere5-2008sep05,0,3736731.story?track=ntothtml</clipSource>

Russia's Putin saves TV crew from Siberian tiger

clipped by: mycelium_obscurum

Clip Source: news.yahoo.com

Vladimir Putin was feted
by Russian media on Sunday for saving a television crew from an
attack by a Siberian tiger in the wilds of the Far East.

Putin, taking a break from lambasting the West over
Georgia, apparently saved the crew while on a trip to a
national park to see how researchers monitor the tigers in the
wild.

Just as Putin was arriving with a group of wildlife
specialists to see a trapped Amur tiger, it escaped and ran
towards a nearby camera crew, the country's main television
station said. Putin quickly shot the beast and sedated it with
a tranquilizer gun.

Putin thanked Western researchers for being involved in
programs to save the Amur tigers.

Sensitive to a growing environmental movement in Russia,
Putin as president redrew a planned oil pipeline route to avoid
Lake Baikal and scrapped plans for an Olympic village near
Sochi that could have damaged local flora and fauna.

Tags: putin, russia, tiger, amur

<clipSource>http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080831/wl_nm/russia_putin_tiger_dc_1</clipSource>

The Pods Are Multiplying

clipped by: EdVenture
clipper's remarks: Oh no! This one may have built up a social memory or more likely a very UNsociable one towards a certain group.

A word of warming to any traders that cross his path in the future..

Clip Source: www.news.com.au

A ONCE drug-addled elephant fed heroin-laced bananas by illegal traders will return home after emerging clean from a three-year detox programme on China's tropical island province of Hainan.

The four-year-old bull elephant, referred to alternately as "Big Brother" or "Xiguang", was captured in 2005 in southwest China by traders who used spiked bananas to control him.

After police arrested the traders and freed Xiguang a few months later, the elephant was confirmed to be suffering from withdrawal symptoms and sent to a wild animal protection centre in Hainan for rehab.

A year of methadone injections at five times the human dosage had helped wean Xiguang off his addiction.

Now clean, Xiguang was expected to arrive on Saturday at a wildlife park in Kunming, capital of the elephant's home province of Yunnan on the mainland.

Xiguang's return would cap a 1500km journey home, and mark another step in the elephant's triumph over addiction.

Tags: elephant, heroin, xiguang, big brother

<clipSource>http://www.news.com.au/dailytelegraph/story/0,22049,24293968-5012895,00.html</clipSource>

Park Greer in Virginia

clipped by: buttershap
clipper's remarks: Park Greer in Virginia

Clip Source: www.takkle.com
