You have a lot in common with John Kasich, and we believe you would enjoy his company. For instance, you are both darlings of FOX News. You are both high-priced national speakers. You have both distinguished yourselves as celebrities. And John Kasich ran for President for a few months, so he could offer you some pointers as you prepare for your 2012 presidential bid.

In addition to the suggestion that government officials would consider hastening the death of the infirm or handicapped, she began her remarks with a puzzling commentary on the design of newly minted dollar coins.

Noting that there had been a lot of “change” of late, Palin recalled a recent conversation with a friend about how the phrase “In God We Trust” had been moved to the edge of the new coins.

“Who calls a shot like that?” she demanded. “Who makes a decision like that?”

She added: “It’s a disturbing trend.”

The decision to put "IN GOD WE TRUST" on the edges of presidential dollar coins has received little attention from the press, but was reversed in 2007, before President Barack Obama took office. Sens. Sam Brownback (R-KS) and Robert Byrd (D-WV) sponsored legislation to move the motto back to the front face of the coins.

Can one even imagine CNN fact checking any of the skits SNL on President Bush or Sarah Palin?? Heaven forbid SNL finally make fun of President Obama. CNN couldn't help themselves. They actually fact checked the jokes.

The transcript of CNN’s “fact-checking” report, which aired 28 minutes into the 6 pm Eastern hour of Monday's Situation Room:

WOLF BLITZER: It seems no politician is safe from Saturday Night Live. While many people think SNL has mostly spared President Obama, what they’re doing now is not necessarily all that kind. They essentially cast the leader of the free world as a do-nothing president, at least so far. Even though SNL deals in comedy, what they said about the President rings true for a lot of you, apparently. So, did the show accurately capture a mood, or did it go off track for comedic effect?

Last Thursday there was a rally outside the U.S. Capitol to protest pending health care legislation, featuring the kinds of things we’ve grown accustomed to, including large signs showing piles of bodies at Dachau with the caption “National Socialist Healthcare.”

It was sponsored by the House Republican leadership

What all this shows is that the G.O.P. has been taken over by the people it used to exploit.

At this point Newt Gingrich is what passes for a sober, reasonable elder statesman of the G.O.P.

And he has no authority

Real power in the party rests, instead, with the likes of Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin

The point is that the takeover of the Republican Party by the irrational right is no laughing matter. Something unprecedented is happening here — and it’s very bad for America.

Whether Mrs. Palin would make a good Presidential candidate, I don't know. But I'm weary to death of the clandestine people who mouth conservative rhetoric and then fold when the game is on. Give me a candidate who gives me a clear choice; not one who bows to the current political breeze blowing through Washington. I've just about lost all "Hope" because I don't see any on the horizon.

The Palin Victory Speech? Ouch!

It does stand to reason that a woman with an ego as large as Sarah Palin's would not realize that leaving gracefully and quietly would say volumes more than any speech she could have given. But had she been given the choice, Palin would have spoken. Aloud.

Later, it was revealed that she took the stage for a photo op with her family and McCain aides turned the lights out to prevent any opportunityfor her to give the speech. You can find both Me-Me speeches here.

From the Concession speech: “It would be a happier night if elections were a test of valor and merit alone, but that is not for us to question now.” All I can say is wow.
