BBC soap opera EastEnders featured two of its male characters engaged in a passionate lip lock on Tuesday.

Since then, the state supported net has supposedly been 'flooded' with complaints (an 'enormous' 145) for screening the gay kiss before 9pm.

Interesting note, this latest 'outrage' has hit 21 years AFTER EastEnders screened the first gay kiss in a British soap.

Nicholas Money, an expert on fungi at Miami University, has been playing around with very fast video. Ultra fast. As in 250,000 frames-a-second fast. He knew exactly what this kind of video was made for. To film fungi that live on dung as they discharge their spores. These tiny fungi can blast spores as far as six feet away, boosting the odds that they’ll land on a clean plant that a cow or other grazing animal may eat. The fungi develop inside the animal, get pooped out with its dung, and fire their spores once more.

Money’s results were not just significant, but beautiful. The fungi fire their spores up to 55 miles an hour–which translates to an acceleration of 180,000 g. Money calls it “the fastest flight in nature.”

How can you know? How do you possibly choose? How to decide which is your favorite cruelly disheartening tidbit of news to slide down the national gullet like a rancid oyster this past week?

Sure, you already knew, but here is yet more reeking evidence, one more nail in this eight-year coffin: George W. Bush is "toxic," and he is "poisonous," and he is absolutely deadly to any hope of serving the United States in any helpful way whatsoever.

But wait, that's not all. Perhaps your attention is split between Bush and the crisis in D.C. and other delightful tidbits, such as John McCain's heroic "suspension" of his campaign so he could be parachute in to Washington like GI Joe's crotchety grandpa and unify his sour party and wrangle the crisis to the ground like it was an uppity "gook"?

Is there maybe some sort of soap opera-ish circus sideshow featuring guns and skinned moose and shiny lipstick and speaking in tongues and rumors of witches in the belfry?

Morning Edition, February 22, 2007 · No one likes to have a runny nose or a stuffed-up head. But for performers like aspiring opera singer Kyle Malone, congestion is a real show stopper.

"If you're stuck on the day of the performance and you have a cold," says Malone, "it's a dangerous thing." After all, his voice is his instrument.

In order to keep his head free of congestion, Malone has adopted a technique that singers use called nasal irrigation. Some people refer to it as nasal lavage or neti-potting.

One of Malone's former roommates, also a singer, taught him the technique several years ago.

He begins by filling a small, bulb-shaped container with water. Then, he stirs in a store-bought package of SinuCleanse, which comes with its own container and a powder mixture of salts.

"I'll actually push the water in my nose," Malone says.

Here is EditArea, a free javascript editor for source code. (That is no way a WYSIWYG editor).
This editor is designed to edit souce code files in a textarea. The main goal is to allow text formatting, search and replace and real-time syntax highlight (for small text).

This editor is free and freely distributable (released under LGPL license). All I ask is that I receive credit for my work. I will also enjoy to receive mail to tell me if you 're using it, just in order to have an idea of how much this editor is used. ;-)

It's been an action-packed week for anyone who enjoys a good old row between science and religion, faith and reason, the men in white coats and the ones in dog collars.

First we had physicists flicking a very expensive switch in their hunt for the God particle (although surely this is doomed to failure if they don't believe He exists).

Then Prof Michael Reiss, director of education for the Royal Society, claimed teachers should discuss creationism with pupils and that "banging on about evolution" didn't change the beliefs of the devoutly religious.

Next the Church of England decided to muddy the waters by saying sorry to Charles Darwin for criticising his theory of evolution.

Now Christian Voice, the evangelical group best known for leading opposition to Jerry Springer - The Opera, has tried to get in on the act by issuing a public apology to Britain's best-known atheist, Prof Richard Dawkins.

In a parody of the Church's letter to Darwin, it declares that it has decided to issue a posthumo
