When it really matters,
information in the US is censored

Hopefully, you've seen all the videos in this series.

If not, I recommend you do that now to appreciate the enormity of what's been done to us by the oil industry and its henchmen.

And those henchmen most definitely include PBS, the so-called Public Broadcasting Service, perhaps better called the Petroleum Broadcasting Service.

For a few million dollars a year, the oil industry has completely censored any reporting on the REALITY that the US does not have to - and never had to - be dependent on gasoline for transport.

* How the oil industry continues to censor the science of alcohol as fuel:

merrie
clipper's remarks: Pressure for a cut in oil output at next week's Opec meeting in Vienna stepped up today when Iran’s Opec governor said an oil price of $100 per barrel was “appropriate”

Robert Laughlin, analyst at MF Global, said today that Opec had played a good hand in its actions — or lack of them — this year, when prices rose aggressively. "But [they] will be alarmed at the downturn in demand and the deteriorating economic backdrop of the global economy."

"Western leaders will be urging the cartel to remain unchanged in production strategy but I fear there is growing feeling in the ranks of price hawks that a cut in production is required and now," Mr Laughlin said

Even the most moderate Opec member, Saudi Arabia, which has indicated that it would prefer output to be left unchanged, has been cutting the discount at which it sells Arab heavy, a poor-quality crude that it uses to calm the oil price, offering large quantities at big discounts.

Clip Source: business.timesonline.co.uk

Oil market analysts expect Opec producers to vigorously protect the $100 a
barrel price at next week’s meeting against a backdrop of rapidly falling
crude prices and the strengthening dollar.

Crude oil prices are now at a five-month low and could yet fall through the
$100 a barrel level, first breached at the beginning of this year.

“Continuing worries about the international economic outlook, a firmer US
dollar and, possibly, market speculation that Opec may not move production
levels following next week’s Opec meeting left oil prices softer,” David
Moore, commodity strategist at Commonwealth Bank of Australia, said.

Predictions earlier this week that the world’s leading economies were at a
standstill and that the UK could be in recession by the end of the year have
heightened concerns that global demand for oil will fall back, sending
prices plunging.

Venezuela has led demands
for cuts but Ecuador's oil minister, Galo Chiriboga, has said that output
levels should remain unchanged.

Tags: opec meeting in vienna, decrease production,

<clipSource>http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/industry_sectors/natural_resources/article4681261.ece</clipSource>

Factcheck: McCain distorts truth in StPaul speech

clipped by: masbury
clipper's remarks: Is he lying or confused?

Clip Source: www.factcheck.org

McCain claimed that Obama’s health care plan would "force small businesses to cut jobs" and would put "a bureaucrat ... between you and your doctor." I was joking at the time, but that comment turned out to be pretty much accurate. The Republicans' top slogan going into the fall elections is "drill here, drill now." It all depends on your definition of "here."

Anyhow, the basic point is straightforward. There is very little oil potentially available in the areas in which the Republicans are anxious to drill here and now. The Energy Information Agency (EIA) - remember, these people work for President Bush - tells us that the oil in the offshore-protected areas will eventually add about 0.2 percent to world's oil output. This would be sufficient to lower the price of gas by 3-4 cents a gallon.

The EIA projects that it will take ten years before we get the first drops of oil from drilling in currently protected areas

<clipSource>http://www.commondreams.org/view/2008/09/03-5</clipSource>

Cheney and Halliburton Bribes

clipped by: klippety
clipper's remarks: Cheney is as Guilty as anyone

Clip Source: www.commondreams.org

Cheney Colleague Admits Bribery in Halliburton Oil Deals

A former colleague of the US Vice-President, Dick Cheney, has pleaded guilty to funnelling millions of dollars in bribes to win lucrative contracts in Nigeria for Halliburton, during the period in the Nineties when Mr Cheney ran the giant oil and gas services company.

<IMG height="344" width="277" align="bottom" alt="[US Vice President Dick Cheney speaks at a news conference in Tbilisi, Georgia, Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008. Geranium Essential Oil is very powerful and effective.
If used alone for a flea spray, we suggest you put no more
than 4 drops per half cup of water and keep it refrigerated.
Shake before spraying a light spritz on the pets fur. No
need to make the fur all wet, the bugs are repelled from
the scent of it. Do not get in the eyes, nose or mouth.
