Accused Nazi death camp guard John Demjanjuk has been deemed fit enough by medical experts to stand trial in Germany for helping to kill 29,000 Jews in World War Two, the state prosecutors office in Munich said Friday.

Demjanjuk, 89, deported to Germany from the United States, has been held in a jail near Munich since May 12. His trial is expected to be Germany's final major Nazi war crimes court case.

Born in Ukraine, Demjanjuk tops the Simon Wiesenthal Center's list of its 10 most-wanted suspected war criminals. Munich prosecutors want him tried for assisting in murders at Sobibor extermination camp, in what is now Poland.

He denies any role in the Holocaust.

The Wiesenthal Center says Demjanjuk pushed men, women and children into gas chambers.

Demjanjuk has said he was drafted into the Soviet army in 1941, became a German prisoner of war and later became a guard in German prison camps until 1944.

Tags: demjanjuk, nazi death camps, war criminals

<clipSource>http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20090703/wl_nm/us_germany_demjanjuk</clipSource>

Survivor in 1971 Aircrash Fell More Than Two Miles

clipped by: lakotahope
clipper's remarks: And Survived more than 10 days in the Jungle.

Clip Source: www.cnn.com

MUNICH, Germany (CNN) -- Juliane Koepcke is not someone you'd expect to attract attention. I wouldn't call it "slutty" though?

"But the cemetery officials are not alone in criticising Ungerer’s memorial. They were after all a bane of her life.”

Niehoff, who gained fame for advocating the rights of sex workers in the 70s and 80s, died at age 63 in February 2009.

Originally from Cologne, Niehoff lived through drugs, child prostitution and desperate attempts to get out of the sex trade. The 77-year-old artist Tomi Ungerer’s parting gift to his friend Domenica Niehoff was to be a gravestone featuring two ample pink marble boulders in homage to her famously top-heavy figure. But those responsible for the Garden of Women cemetery, resting place of Hamburg’s most famous women, turned his design down, the paper reported.

Ungerer, who declared his interest in designing her gravestone immediately after her death, reacted bitterly to the decision.

Ungerer and Niehoff were friends for decades, and even shared a flat for a while in 1984. This is similar to a German word for "greeting", Gruß, possibly referring to the Bavarian greeting Grüß Gott that the group would have heard while recording the album in Munich. Health success factor: able, motivated, and – above all else – healthy managers and employees are more important than ever for any business. This is especially relevant given that we are living in times in which the health of productive workers is often endangered by fierce competition at work, stress on the job, psychologically excessive demands, or harassment in the office.

Tags: business check-up, preventive care programme, prevention, preventive care examination, munich, clinic, diagnoseklinik münchen

<clipSource>http://www.diagnoseklinik-muenchen.de/index_en.php?m=2&m1=14&s=2_14_1</clipSource>

"No priest, no evil one/Can keep us/From feeling like Hitler’s children."

clipped by: Efrain Alvarado
clipper's remarks: "Clergy were put on government salary, hence subjected to
state authority. “The parsons will be made to dig their own graves,”
Hitler cackled. “They will betray their God to us. They will betray anything for the sake of their miserable little jobs and incomes.” Following the Jacobin example, the Nazis replaced the traditional
Christian calendar. The new year began on January 30 with the Day
of the Seizure of Power. Each November the streets of central
Munich were dedicated to a Nazi Passion play depicting Hitler’s
Beer Hall Putsch. The martyrdom of Horst Wessel and his “old fighters”
replaced Jesus and the apostles. Plays and official histories
were rewritten to glorify pagan Aryans bravely fighting against
Christianizing foreign armies. Anticipating some feminist pseudo
history, witches became martyrs to the bloodthirsty oppression of
 Christianity."

Clip Source: insightscoop.typepad.com

That creepy line, according to Jonah Goldberg's Liberal Fascism, was part of a Hitler Youth song popular during the late 1930s. Goldberg has posted two excerpts from his book in response to the idea, still widely prevalent, that Hitler was a Christian of some sort or another (a strong Catholic, according to some):

Like the engineers of that proverbial railway bridge, the Nazis
worked relentlessly to replace the nuts and bolts of traditional
Christianity with a new political religion. The shrewdest way to accomplish
this was to co-opt Christianity via the Gleichschaltung
while at the same time shrinking traditional religion’s role in civil society.
To this end, Hitler was downright Bismarckian. The German
historian Götz Aly explains how Hitler purchased popularity with
lavish social welfare programs and middle-class perks, often paid for
with stolen Jewish wealth and high taxes on the rich. Hitler banned
religious charity, crippling the churches’ role as a counterweight to
the state.

Tags: nazism, christianity

<clipSource>http://insightscoop.typepad.com/2004/2009/06/no-priest-no-evil-onecan-keep-usfrom-feeling-like-hitlers-children.html</clipSource>

Unseen photographs reveal the private life of Adolf Hitler

clipped by: melakatoday

Clip Source: www.telegraph.co.uk

<img src="http://content6.clipmarks.com/image_cache/melakatoday/512/737F8C10-FA02-4F12-AE1C-13AEC082E3B3.jpg" alt="Hitler salutes German troops in Adolf Hitler Platz on September 1st, 1938. A set of photographs showing the private side of Adolf Hitler have been
published for the first time. The colour pictures come from the collection
of Hugo Jaeger, Hitler's personal photographer, who captured him on camera
him from 1936 to the final days of his rule in 1945. Jaeger hid thousands of
transparencies in a leather suitcase at the end of the war. The case was
found by six US soldiers as they searched a house near Munich where he was
staying but they were more interested in a bottle of cognac he had also
 slipped inside.

Obama's Attorney General also dispatched U.S. Marshals to protect "appropriate people and facilities around the nation."

But law enforcement resources have not been dispatched to protect recruiting centers (even though hundreds of those have been attacked in recent years), nor is Obama sending Marshals to protect synagogues, after last month's arrest of four Islamists who planned to bomb Jewish houses of worship in New York.

Clip Source: patriotpost.us

Chamberlain insisted, infamously, that appeasing Hitler with the Munich Agreement would provide "peace for our time."

And one of the points I want to make is, is that if you actually took the number of Muslims Americans, we'd be one of the largest Muslim countries in the world."
