Somebody will appreciate my efforts! Obviously people have different criteria for rating pictures. I chose the most common ones and based them on the “cheese” factor. Here goes…

As Taylor Lautner gets older hopefully he doesn’t make the mistake of gaining too much muscle. The problem with adding too much muscle is it quickly destroy the aesthetics of a slim and athletic body.

Rusty Moore over at Fitness Black Book covers this hip slim look in detail. His site is probably the only one that tells people to avoid adding too much muscle, because he says it is “cheesy” looking. I completely agree! You can get his free report here —-> Vacation Body Blueprint

Moved to tears

I had a good cry the other night. Right in the middle of a great solo performance by guitar virtuoso Tommy Emmanuel, who performed live at KVIE Studios. Tommy amazed the crowd of KVIE donors, and me, with a string of can’t-believe-this-guy songs that made me proud to have KVIE and PBS for showcasing him. One of the best was a melancholy and very beautiful version of the Henry Mancini classic “Moon River.”

Moon River sent me straight back to my childhood in Cleveland, where every Saturday evening my family watched together as Andy Williams closed his variety show with his signature song. As Tommy unfolded the melody, I closed my eyes and was again a carefree little boy swaying in my mother’s lap. Last year Mom died, and the childhood memories and the song’s poignancy gave me a surprising and satisfying cry.

On November 8, the Cassini spacecraft snapped this photo of Rhea, Saturn's second largest moon, against a backdrop of the gas giant planet and its famed rings. The spacecraft has returned countless striking images since it arrived at Saturn in 2004, but it continues to carry out exploratory science as well.

Less than a week before this snapshot was taken, Cassini plunged through a misty plume spewing from the south pole of Enceladus, another Saturnian moon. During that November 2 flyby, designed to gather data about the mysterious plume's composition, the spacecraft buzzed Enceladus at a distance of roughly 100 kilometers. For comparison, Cassini was nearly two million kilometers from Rhea when the image above was captured.

Just Missed: Nov. 7th Asteroid 30x Closer Than Moon

The asteroid named 2009 DD45 was about 48,800 miles from Earth. That is just twice the height of some telecommunications satellites and about a fifth of the distance to the Moon.

Asteroid passes just 8,700miles from Earth - with only 15 hours warning

Although no one noticed at the time, the Earth was almost hit by an asteroid last Friday.

The previously undiscovered asteroid came within 8,700miles of Earth but astronomers noticed it only 15 hours before it made its closest approach.

Its orbit brought it 30 times nearer than the Moon, which is 250,000 miles away.

Astronomers believe the object, called 2009 VA, would have almost completely burned up while entering Earth's atmosphere, causing a brilliant fireball in the sky but no major damage to the surface.

The asteroid was discovered by the Catalina Sky Survey on November 6, 2009. It was then identified by the Minor Planet Centre in Cambridge, Massachusetts as a near Earth object.

It was the third-closest known (non-impacting) Earth approach on record for a cataloged asteroid.

They monitored a 100ft asteroid that whizzed 45,000 miles above the Earth's surface on March 2 this year. A similar sized object slammed into Tunguska, Siberia in 1908. The impact created a blast so powerful it levelled 1,200 square miles of forest.

Asteroid almost smacks into the Earth

YOU almost certainly missed it - and luckily it missed you - but an asteroid has come within 8,700 miles of hitting the Earth.

Astronomers spotted the object only 15 hours before its closest approach to our planet last Friday.

It followed an asteroid which exploded over Indonesia with the force of three Hiroshima nuclear bombs two weeks ago.

Don't panic! Although the asteroid passed within 14,484 kilometres (9,000 miles) of Earth it measured just (7 metres) 23ft across and wouldn't have dented the surface.

Even had it been on collision course with us, the 7 ,etre (23ft wide) asteroid - known as 2009 VA - is unlikely to have made much of an impact because it would probably have all but burnt up in the atmosphere.

It was the third-closest approach on record for any asteroid that has failed to make it through our atmosphere.

The 2009 Leonid Meteor Shower

November 10, 2009: This year's Leonid meteor shower peaks on Tuesday, Nov. 17th. If forecasters are correct, the shower should produce a mild but pretty sprinkling of meteors over North America followed by a more intense outburst over Asia. The phase of the Moon will be new, setting the stage for what could be one of the best Leonid showers in years.

Leonids are bits of debris from Comet Tempel-Tuttle. Every 33 years the comet visits the inner solar system and leaves a stream of dusty debris in its wake. Many of these streams have drifted across the November portion of Earth's orbit. Whenever we hit one, meteors come flying out of the constellation Leo.

The first stream crossing on Nov. 17th comes around 0900 UT (4 a.m. EST, 1 a.m. PST). The debris is a diffuse mix of particles from several old streams that should produce a gentle display of two to three dozen meteors per hour over North America. Dark skies are recommended for full effect.
