Tehran: A married woman last week accused some members of Iranian military police of participation in a group raping of her on November 4, 2009. Iran's Parliament today is said to secretly investigate these claims. A Human Rights Watch report last week also documented at least 3 cases of rape against political dissidents in Iranian prisons.

In the past, Iran's Parliament has been reluctant or unable to investigate criminal or financial matters related to the increasingly powerful Military Police and Revolutionary Guard Corp (RGC).

IND: Unfortunately, the WSJ doesn’t include an excellent chart that accompanied this article in the paper on page B2 in its website. This chart can feed the appetite of conspiracy theorists who claim that the US needs to exaggerate the threat of Iran in order to sell more military goods to the oil rich Arab states in the Persian Gulf. But at the same time it undermines their arguments because conspiracy theorists often include Iran’s military expenditures as part of their reasoning. The chart shows Iran’s military expenditure at around $6 billion/yr versus the Saudis alone at around $33 billion/yr. Moreover, Iran buys most of its military goods from Russia, China, N. Korea, etc. and not from American or Western European companies.

It's time to surrender in Afghanistan. Yep, that's right. Surrender.

Let's sign a document of surrender, apologize for our "aggression," withdraw the troops, and let Osama and the Taliban have a ticker-tape parade in the streets of Kabul before they force women back into their burkas, outlaw education for girls, and start executing homosexuals and Christians again.

The assassination of thirteen American troops at Ft. Hood by a Muslim officer in the U.S. Army is the last straw. Despite the overwhelming evidence, our political and military leaders refuse to acknowledge that Maj. Hasan was motivated by militant Islamist ideology.

And Gen. George Casey -- unbelievably -- actually said that if "diversity" in the military were to suffer, it would be an even greater tragedy than the Ft. Hood murders.

The enemy has not defeated us in battle. They can't. But the Ft. Hood assassinations show that we've already surrendered.

The fighters say they seized the arms cache from two US outposts in eastern Nuristan province.

Days after the alleged assault, the US military pulled out its troops from the area.

Note this phrase from the title: “US Terrorist Army Base.” Major Hasan is a psychiatrist, so he should know that projection–literally, “throwing off on the other person”–is one of the most common defenses that people employ when they think, or especially do, things of which they should, at the very least, be ashamed.

But the most damning piece of evidence was Hasan’s infamous “Grand Rounds” that he delivered back in 2007 while at Walter Reed Hospital, titled “The Koranic World View As It Relates to Muslims in the U.S. Military.” In that presentation, which any reader can view in its entirety at the above link, Hasan repeatedly cited and often quoted surah and ayah (i.e., chapter and verse) from the Koran to justify some very forthright, even brazen commentary on the relationships

President Obama spoke at that event, as he could hardly have failed to do. But neither he nor anyone else present seemed to want to discuss the camel in the room, which is terrorism.

It may be hard to comprehend the twisted logic that led to this tragedy. But this much we do know: no faith justifies these murderous and craven acts; no just and loving God looks upon them with favor. For what he has done, we know that the killer will be met with justice–in this world, and the next.

Obama did say one correct thing in the above paragraph: that no just and loving God looks with favor on acts of this kind. A careful read of the Koran and the Hadiths shows that the Allah of Islam is anything but loving, and that Allah’s idea of justice is simple: Follow My law, or My servants will make sure that you die slowly and painfully.

This statement, however, is incorrect: that no faith justifies such acts. Wrong, Mr. President. Classical Islam not only justifies such acts; it commands them.

WASHINGTON — The number of US veterans who died in 2008 because they lacked health insurance was 14 times higher than the US military death toll in Afghanistan that year, according to a new study.

The analysis produced by two Harvard medical researchers estimates that 2,266 US military veterans under the age of 65 died in 2008 because they lacked health coverage and had reduced access to medical care.

That figure is more than 14 times higher than the 155 US troop deaths in Afghanistan in 2008, the study says.

Released as the United States commemorates fallen soldiers on Veterans Day, the study warns that even health care provided by the Veterans Health Administration (VA) leaves many veterans without coverage.

Man Charged in New York School Hostage…

MYFOXNY.COM - Stissing Middle School in Pine Plains, New York has a hero among its student body.

Zach Pruner, 12, was hiding in a room next to an armed gunman who held the school's principal hostage on Tuesday.

Zach passed along vital information to police outside using hand signals and notes. The gunman was captured thanks to help from Zach.

Good Day NY's Rosanna Scotto spoke with the boy on Wednesday. He explained in detail what he did to help police.

"I crawled under a desk... looked through a gap to see what was in the lobby but no one was there. I heard a SWAT armored vehicle come up to the building... I got their attention by waving my arms. I used hand signals.. I did '1' then the gun sign; then '4' and the hostage sign."

When that didn't seem to work Zach grabbed a marker and a note pad and wrote the same information. Police wrote a note telling him to jump out the window.

The Army’s Criminal Investigation Division is responsible for recommending charges, prompting the military equivalent of a grand jury, known as an Article 32 hearing, where both prosecutors and defense can present evidence.

Those results would be reviewed by the base commander, who would decide whether to convene a court-martial. The 12-person jury would be composed of officers higher in rank than Hasan " lieutenant colonels and above.

The future indeed looks grim for Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, the accused Fort Hood gunman, who last week opened fire in a processing center on the base, killing 13. Hasan was injured by gunfire, but remains alive and under heavy guard at Fort Sam Houston. That means, of course, Hasan will presumably be prosecuted for his actions.

But what will the legal proceedings look like for Hasan? The Houston Chronicle attempts to answer the question in a story out Monday.

A key question concerning Hasan’s fate hinges on whether civilian prosecutors conclude he was part of a terrorist plot that might justify moving his case into the federal criminal courts under U.S. anti-terrorism laws. If prosecutors, on the other hand, determine that Hasan acted alone, he could face the death penalty in a military court-martial.

Remember military dogs on Veterans Day

Today, November 11, Veterans Day is a national holiday honoring veterans and the sacrifices they make in defense of the United States of America. WWI armistice was signed November 11, hence the date. Who among us is not grateful for the selfless acts of nameless soldiers who place their lives on the line in defense of this country?

But, how many of us remember the contribution given by military dogs trained to assist troops in combat? There are many memorials to military and war dogs throughout the country but how many of us know the selfless acts of bravery and courage performed by military dogs?

So, today as you honor the memory of all soldiers who defended our country, take a moment to thank all the military dogs who gave their lives in defense of the United States. It's the least they deserve.
