Sad songs can make you cry. Upbeat songs may give you an energy boost. But can music create the same effects as illegal drugs?

This seems like a ridiculous question. But websites are targeting your children with so-called digital drugs. These are audio files designed to induce drug-like effects.

All your child needs is a music player and headphones.

There are different slang terms for digital drugs. They're often called "idozers" or "idosers." All rely on the concept of binaural beats.

It is incorrect to call binaural beats music. They're really ambient sounds designed to affect your brain waves.

For binaural beats to work, you must use headphones. Different sounds are played in each ear. The sounds combine in your brain to create a new frequency. This frequency corresponds to brain wave frequencies.

There are different brain wave frequencies. These frequencies are related to different states like relaxation and alertness.

Tags: binaural, music, meditation, hypnosis, drugs

<clipSource>http://www.usatoday.com/tech/columnist/kimkomando/2008-08-07-digital-drugs_N.htm</clipSource>

Combat office stress with aromatherapy

clipped by: A53GG4

Clip Source: planteo.multiply.com

I have been told that, in order to really learn something, I must become it. At first, I thought that meant that I needed to mimic the process.

Clip Source: geocities.com

Those people who get frustrated using mind control techniques, such as meditation, surprisingly, could be trying too hard. By following every word, every nuance of the given meditation doctrine from their favorite meditation book or tape, they often fail to absorb the essence of the lesson.

<clipSource>http://geocities.com/howtomeditate/learntomeditate.html?200817</clipSource>

Learn How To Meditate

clipped by: LillianL
clipper's remarks: I've been through this everytime I tried a new meditation because I want something really badly.

Clip Source: mindhealing.multiply.com

Anyone would be proud of how hard he tried to achieve his goals but he over complicated his journey and as a result, his goals never came to fruition.

Tags: how, to, meditate

<clipSource>http://mindhealing.multiply.com/journal/item/2/Learn_How_To_Meditate</clipSource>

Meditation

clipped by: Laughingpancake

Clip Source: www.how-to-meditate.org

If we appreciate the great potential of this life we shall not waste it by engaging in meaningless activities.

We need to meditate on death and impermanence to overcome procrastination

We need to meditate on the sufferings of humans

so that we develop a spontaneous wish to attain permanent liberation

This wish, known as `renunciation’,

We need to meditate on love, compassion, and bodhichitta so that we can overcome our self-cherishing and develop and maintain a good heart towards all living beings. "The mindfulness program is a group-based and low-cost treatment, and if this initial finding is replicated in larger samples, it's possible that such training can be used as a powerful complementary treatment for HIV disease, alongside medications."

There is emerging evidence from other studies that shows that behavioral stress-management programs can buffer HIV declines in HIV-positive people, Creswell noted.

<clipSource>http://static-p4.fotolia.com/jpg/00/02/99/91/400_F_2999131_ru9tHE7eJL9k418jyiX17QTQa6l4ak.jpg</clipSource>

Ten Dubious Clip Tips for Mental Health

clipped by: abailart
clipper's remarks: <<<Transcultural Psychiatrists would certainly have a few dilemmas with the above list. Exercising our brains can be just as important as
exercising our muscles. Here are seven ways to keep your brain in tip-top shape.

1. Exercise your memory.

2. Play games

3. Take up mentally challenging hobbies.

4. Find computer or Internet programs that promise to build brain
function.

5. Eat healthy. A balanced diet will help maintain brain
health. Some foods linked to mental agility are blueberries, apples, spinach,
onions, broccoli, beets, grapes, cherries, tea, eggplant and chocolate

6. Relieve stress. Our brains are also affected by our emotions. Meditation can help relieve stress and can also have a positive effect on the brain.

7. Get physical exercise. New research shows adults who are more physically fit have less brain shrinkage as they age. And listening to music while exercising boosts brain power even more.

<clipSource>http://intelligenttravel.typepad.com/photos/uncategorized/2007/12/19/braingymexercises.jpg</clipSource>

Thiaoouba Prophecy

clipped by: singer
clipper's remarks: far out. astral, kirlian, meditation, greys, aliens, telepathy, other civilisations

Clip Source: www.thiaoouba.com

The
