And the media will only help make this election about personalities instead of issues and then use Palin to distract us from those issues.

Given that 82 percent of voters believe we are heading in the wrong direction, it’s a logical position to take. But for the American people to buy into the notion that McCain, who has raced to Bush’s side on tax cuts, on offshore drilling — even on torture — is this campaign’s agent of change, it’s going to require an incredible suspension of disbelief. Or a serious case of amnesia.

Tags: bush, mccain, here, we, go, again

<clipSource>http://www.crooksandliars.com/2008/09/06/daily-show-2008-mccain-2000-bush/</clipSource>

Palin attended five colleges in six years

clipped by: lap322
clipper's remarks: Palin has a Bachelor's in Journalism.

So, an Associate's in nursing should qualify me to be the next Surgeon General in McSame's administration, right? He's just realized that he's about to be ambushed from the weeds by the Barracuda, and forced to his knees. Not long ago, he and "the porpoise" (Joe Biden, pre-hair plugs) were just "Selling a song," with "no right, no wrong" — just playing "a whisper game" involving a "name." This is clearly a reference to the "McSame" meme on which they were relying so much. And "sell me, sell you," the porpoise and the singer croon to each other in close harmony. Oh, yeah: It's about Obama and Biden, all right.

Clip Source: www.beldar.org

As I type this, the sound system from the GOP convention floor is cranked up all the way, playing Heart's galloping mega-hit from 1977 (my college graduation year, yay!) — "Barracuda."

And to think just how many times I've listened to this song over the last thirty years without realizing how profound it would become! Sarah Palin is Bad for Women

There can be no doubt that Palin’s selection is purely tactical — a decision based more on image and balance than on substance and qualifications. Palin’s youth, beauty, and distance from Washington were all chosen because they directly counter shortcomings of McCain. Her indisputable conservatism in areas where McCain has appeared moderate — abortion, the Second Amendment, drilling — as well as her “strength” in domestic issues, balances nicely with McCain’s flip-flopping war-focused campaign.

Quite frankly, conservatives have rewarded a woman politically for deciding to keep a baby and for sending her son to Iraq. For this reason, Palin’s selection is a great disservice to women — and further evidence of how truly destructive a Republican victory will be for American women.

<clipSource>http://airamerica.com/blog/2008/aug/29/sarah-palin-bad-women</clipSource>

McShallow's Choice

clipped by: Kevbo4
clipper's remarks: The PUMAs don't seem numerous enough to be worth courting and I really doubt anyone will jump ship from the Obama camp. Is voting for McSame/Palin supposed to be some mavericky pro-equality opportunity for GOP gals? This smacks of desperation. Is she safer than choosing more experienced, more Hillary-esque female politicians who actually have experience but are too disturbing to sexist conservatives and family values crowd? Was she chosen over better female Repubs merely because she's eye candy like all the blondes on FOX News? Sure looks that way and this could very well be an ironic step backward for women in politics.

Clip Source: www.salon.com

McCain's Palin pick is the epitome of tokenism

Tags: politics

<clipSource>http://www.salon.com/opinion/conason/2008/08/30/palin/</clipSource>

Governor Mark Sanford (R-SC) goes blank trying to find differences between McCain and Bush’s economi

clipped by: boniface

Clip Source: www.crooksandliars.com

Obama ran an ad calling McCain—McSame in the economy. Republican Governor Mark Sanford of South Carolina went blank trying to think up any differences between John McCain and George Bush’s economic policies when Blitzer asked him to name some. That’s sure going to cut your gas prices.

Download | Play Download | Play (h/t Billw)

Blitzer: Are there any significant economic differences between what the Bush administration has put forward over these many years as opposed to John McCain’s support?

Sanford: Yea, I mean for instance take, you know, ummm, ahhh, take for instance the issue of, ahhhh..(knocks on table) I’m drawing a blank. It's the original story that defined John McCain, that still when you read it in his book 'Faith of my Fathers,' when you read about it in 'The Nightingale's Song,' you can't help but have admiration and respect for the guy. And I think he wisely for many years stayed away from it as a political tool, he really did. But now it not only defines him, it's become a crutch in the campaign. And I think he is in danger of trivializing it. By the time they get to the convention in St. Paul, there might not be much of it left to use."

Tags: mccain, pow, mcsame, mclame, well, ran, dry

<clipSource>http://clipmarks.com/clipmark/0648A6EC-6350-432A-8952-52C619EE84BE/</clipSource>

Does Bush Believe McCain Was Tortured?

clipped by: BartendingBear
clipper's remarks: What a bunch of ass-fucks BushCo is, John McSame included.

Clip Source: andrewsullivan.theatlantic.com

In all the discussion of John McCain's recently recovered memory of a religious epiphany in Vietnam, one thing has been missing. You know, "He's not patriotic enough, he's got a funny name." You know, "He doesn't look like all those other presidents on the dollar bills.''
