It seems to stand for everything and yet nothing.

Whether Mrs. Palin would make a good Presidential candidate, I don't know. But I'm weary to death of the clandestine people who mouth conservative rhetoric and then fold when the game is on. Give me a candidate who gives me a clear choice; not one who bows to the current political breeze blowing through Washington. I've just about lost all "Hope" because I don't see any on the horizon.

Clip Source: pajamasmedia.com

Sarah Palin and the Dysfunctional Political Class

The frenetic hostility to Sarah Palin, even by many on the Republican side, is unnerving, because her qualifications to be president are objectively better than those of almost anyone who has been on the national ticket over the past decade.

Al Gore would be disqualified by knowledge of his academic career and by a reading of Earth in the Balance, an exercise in messianic ignorance. Either the 'moderates' form their own party or the true conservatives must. I'm tired of voting for the lesser of the 2 evils and violating my true convictions. While these 'moderate' Republicans may be very nice people with good intentions...few actually shared my values. And he's right! The #1 'moderate' revealed so much about himself.

Clip Source: www.rushlimbaugh.com

Top Ten GOP Moderate Moments

RUSH: I'd like to share with you what I think,

are -- and it was tough to limit this to ten -- the Top Ten Republican Moderate Moments.

Number ten: Newt Gingrich does a PSA on global warming with Nancy Pelosi in 2008.

Number nine moderate moment in GOP history: Bush-Quayle '92.

The number eight moderate moment GOP history: Dole-Kemp '96.

number seven most moderate moment in Republican history: Ford-Dole '76.

number six: Jumpin' Jim Jeffords jumps from the Republican Party.

: Arlen Specter switches parties.

four: Richard Nixon resigns in disgrace.

number three: Dede Scozzafava endorses the Democrat, Owens

number two: The McCain campaign of 2008.

The number one top ten moderate moment in Republican history: Colin Powell endorsing Barack Obama, the Democrat, for president in 2008!

Every one of them took us where? Backwards!

<clipSource>http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_110309/content/01125112.guest.html</clipSource>

Lieberman: I'll support Republicans in 2010

clipped by: ratilfar
clipper's remarks: "The senator from Connecticut almost lost his committee chair last time he stumped for the GOP."

Turning that (I) into (I) told you so!

Clip Source: www.salon.com

If you thought Sen. There's a hard core of partisan Democrats on the other side. McCain may have continued to "blur the lines" but with Obama in office, the difference in ideology of the Republicans is Stark and Bold... Let's hope Republicans and Conservative Independents can capitalize on it.

Clip Source: www.washingtonexaminer.com

Obama's big change: He moves America to the Right

As promised, Barack Obama is bringing change to America. He's making it more Republican.

It's not that more people are actually becoming Republicans or calling themselves Republicans -- the number of voters who formally identify with the party is at its lowest point in years. But we appear to be in the early stages of a shift in which political independents, people who not too long ago were sick of Republicans, are now leaning toward GOP positions on some key issues.

They still call themselves independents, but they're worried by the left-leaning policies of President Obama and the Democratic Congress, especially on the economy. "The middle, which wanted to move away from George W. Bush, did not want to move this far left," says a Republican pollster who is tracking the shift. "They are tending to agree with what Republicans are saying more and more, despite the previous eight years."

Tags: politics

<clipSource>http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/politics/Obama_s-big-change_-He-moves-America-to-the-Right-8442204-66186122.html</clipSource>

A Beckean Slip: Confusing the president with bin Laden, while touting theory that Obama is a Marxist

clipped by: ratilfar
clipper's remarks: This is what we'll call a Beckean Slip: An apparent slip of the tongue that is most likely intentional, and at the bare minimum clearly exposes the desire to confuse the public.

It isn't the first time Beck has slipped and mixed up Osama bin Laden's name with President Obama's. And it certainly won't be the last.

However, it does tend to undermine Beck's subsequent claim to having this high-level, all-seeing mind that is "right" about a whole host of things (that he's actually been wrong about). Indeed, it reveals a confused mind incapable of clearly distinguishing between the president of the United States and a cave-dwelling terrorist.

Beck also adds that "I could be wrong" but "I haven't been before"? Um, yeah, except for the dozens of times he actually has been wrong. (Remember when he was predicting that Americans would eventually go for McCain at the polls? That prediction turned out well, didn't it?)

Clip Source: crooksandliars.com

Glenn Beck was trying real hard yesterday to convince people that his running theory -- that Barack Obama is secretly a Marxist who intends to radically transform America into a communist state -- just might be right.

He compared his theory to the early stages of the Monica-baiting of Clinton in 1998, when everyone was in denial -- because, you see, he thinks eventually he'll be proven right. Now I know it sounds like that bill is the opposite of what its name implies in the way that, say, George Bush's "Clear Skies Act" gutted environmental regulations or Larry Craig's "No Handjobs For Me, Thanks Act" -- which oddly enough allocated a million dollars in federal funding for... and I'm quoting here, "handjobs for Larry Craig." But it's not! What McCain is proposing is that AT&T and Verizon be given "freedom" to control what information passes through the Internet. Information like: John McCain is the number one recipient of donations from the telecom industry and its lobbyists for the past three years, that I looked up on the Google, and it loaded pretty fast!

Tags: news, politics, net, internet, net-neutrality, jon-stewart, john-mccain, video, media-news

<clipSource>http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/10/27/jon-stewart-takes-on-net_n_335517.html</clipSource>

PAC to oppose BCS

clipped by: defran

Clip Source: politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com

PAC formed to push for BCS playoff

WASHINGTON (CNN) - A new political effort is afoot to reform to the NCAA Bowl Championship Series. That report said that the U.S. is "relying heavily" on armed contractors in Iraq and Afghanistan and suggests their use could continue to rise. The report also states that misconduct and the killing of civilians by armed security contractors "may have undermined U.S. counterinsurgency efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan."

In 2007, Sen.
