Another ship seized as pirates issue threat

In this picture released by U.S. Navy September 28, Somali pirates in small boats are seen alongside the hijacked "Faina." The captain of a hijacked Ukrainian ship off the coast of Somalia says one crew member has died and he can see a U.S. ship about a mile from his freighter.

Pirates have seized more than two dozen ships this year off the Horn of Africa, but the hijacking of the Faina has drawn the most international concern because of its dangerous cargo -- 33 tanks and other heavy weapons.

Momentum has been growing for coordinated international action against the pirate menace.

A nation of around 8 million people, Somalia has not had a functioning government since 1991. A quarter of Somali children die before age 5 and nearly every public institution has collapsed. In the capital, Mogadishu, thousands of civilians have died over the past 18 months in a ferocious, Iraq-style insurgency

If you want to make money flipping websites on a consistent basis, you will eventually come to a point where you are feeling burnt out if you’re focusing on just creating and selling brand new websites by doing all the work yourself. If you’re just looking to sell a site here and there to make a few extra bucks, you won’t have a problem. However, if you want to sell volume to make bigger, more consistent money, you will need to outsource some of that work.

Supermarkets in Wales make an effort to be bilingual with their signs. So, above a tinned food aisle, they had the words bwyd tin prominently displayed. This would seem natural enough, as bwyd means food, but the second word they were looking for was tun (pronounced the same as 'tin'). Tin, with an i, is a less-than-polite word for someone's backside.

Oct. 10 (Bloomberg) -- Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi said political leaders are discussing the idea of closing the world's financial markets while they ``rewrite the rules of international finance.''

``The idea of suspending the markets for the time it takes to rewrite the rules is being discussed,'' Berlusconi said today after a Cabinet meeting in Naples, Italy. A solution to the financial crisis ``can't just be for one country, or even just for Europe, but global.''

The Bretton Woods Agreements were adopted to rebuild the international economic system after World War II in a hotel in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire. The aim of the agreements was to establish a monetary management system, initially by pegging currencies to gold. The IMF was set up later to help manage the international financial system.

Berlusconi didn't give any details about what kind of rules leaders were looking to change, except to say that leaders are ``talking about a new Bretton Woods.''
