by: ofcapri
clipper's remarks:
We tend to apply ergonomics as it relates to our waking activities. But utilizing the right sleep posture is just as important as having the right PC posture, especially if you want to enjoy a pain-free morning and day.

Clip Source: lifehacker.com

Improve Your Sleep Posture

Weblog Lifehack says that our sleep posture doesn't get the attention it deserves and argues that "we need to pay more attention to our bodies when they're NOT in motion." To that end, they've created a checklist of nighttime posture don'ts along with their potential pain triggers.

So what is the best position to sleep in? According to the post, it's "on your side, knees bent, pillow between the knees, and your head resting on a single pillow." Alternatively, you can try resting on your back with a pillow under your knees, with loose sheets and a single pillow.

We're also curious to know, are you a one-pillow or two-pillow napper?

<clipSource>http://lifehacker.ru/2009/03/13/s-openwithorg-otkroetsja-vse/</clipSource>

Portable Apps

clipped by: eltyrex
clipper's remarks: Perfect for those thumbdrives

Clip Source: lifehacker.com

Five Best Portable Applications

Portable Firefox

Minor changes under the hood of Portable Firefox make it more suitable for flash drive usage, such as the default disabling of read/write intensive disk caching. It clamps onto GMail and uses the GTD methodology to organize your life.

Thought some would be interested in this.

http://www.dcs-media.com/technology/Detail.aspx?ArticleId=470

Every Friday, I post reviews of Firefox extensions. (Firefox+Friday = Fireday reviews)

The main problem with the GTD system is that it overcomlicates most simple tasks. At some point you are spending more time organizing and planning the work than actually doing the work. In many cases it would be more effective to stop planning and just DO IT!.
I also fail to see how a system that requires more steps and more work is going to help people who are already having trouble keeping up with everything.

Tags: productivity, firefox, web, lifehack, gtd

<clipSource>http://www.getrichslowly.org/blog/2006/11/06/getting-things-done-how-to-take-control-of-life/</clipSource>

Mission Control productivity method

clipped by: billpar

Clip Source: www.missioncontrol.com

Learn how to be productive in the 21st Century

Book cover via Amazon

I think the article is a very accurate summary of at least two of the methods, Stephen Covey and David Allen’s GTD. I am not familiar with Jim Loehr’s method so I can’t comment. From what I read, I agree with the author’s assessment.

My personal bottom line is that David Allen’s system was the most useful, Loehr’s the most energizing, and Covey’s the most profound. Whether I’ll be able to keep up all these new habits remains to be seen. All I know is that right now my office is now perfectly organized I’m clear about my life’s purpose.

Tags: gtd, productivity, lifehack

<clipSource>http://rob-thompson.com/covey-allen-battle-commence/</clipSource>

Blended GTD and Covey implementation

clipped by: billpar

Clip Source: practicethis.com

Gtdagenda.com

You can use it to manage your goals, projects and tasks, set next actions and contexts, use checklists, schedules and a calendar.
A mobile version is available too.

As with the last update, now Gtdagenda has full Someday/Maybe functionality, you can easily move your tasks and projects between “Active”, “Someday/Maybe” and “Archive”. This will clear your mind, and will boost your productivity.

Hope you like it.

<clipSource>http://exclusio.ru/438/</clipSource>

100 Blogs That Will Save You Time And Make You More Productive

clipped by: jjorgen1

Clip Source: www.matchacollege.com

100 Blogs that Will Save You Time & Make You More Productive

Today’s busy lifestyles require that everyone put in extra hours when it comes to careers, family, and even free time.
